The Dallas Hwy Garage Renovation

I think you need a mural of Obama painted on the ceiling.

Since you brought that up, I have actually been looking for an Obama dart board, but am not having much luck :whistle

THE Paint does come up ...very easy....Stain lasts much better... I have the 12 in vinyl tiles and if put down correctly they last forever...they will come up if you scratch off on them....mine have been wet and had a lot of traffic..only lost a couple in 12 years

Yep...I think my mind is made up. I'll go with the tiles. Talk about a long project. PHEW! It's like winning the Polish lottery. You know, a dollar a year for a million years :laugh

Hey Lil' Bro, have you seen the G-Floor? Looks cool and fairly easy to do.

That was a goof video, Sis! I've been painting in the garage today and it coming together pretty nice. I wish I could go down to Lowes or Deep Homo and get that rolled flooring, but they don't have it in stock. They only have samples of the square, rubber tiles and you STILL have to order it.

I've looked at the roll out type on line. I think it would cost a little less $$$, so I should probably consider it. 8)

Whew! Working in the garage made me tard yesterday. I had several ceiling tiles to paint and put up, including the last 2 can lights that had to be wired and mounted in the ceiling. It's the first work I've been able to get done in over 4 weeks due to yard work, getting ready for vacation and being gone the week of vacation.

Anyway, the ceiling in the main garage area is done and looks pretty good for a do-it-yourselfer. There are no problems with the door going up above the ceiling and actually looks pertty cool when they disappear 8)

I still have to trim out around the doors, paint and hang the ceiling in the work-room area and lay the flooring when someone donates about $1,800 to the project :laugh :whistle

I'm trying to think of something to do with those polls. Maybe box them in or something :'(

That's a good thought, Gen 8)

I hope it does even better than that :DN

Right! I should have written at least $1800.

I swear, we have the exact same house! Why do anything with the poles? It looks like they're already painted, and they take up less space than they would if you boxed them in. It IS a garage, after all. But you do what you wanna. I personally think you've done a fantastic job. Looking forward to your doing mine. ;)

I may not do anything with the polls....just kinda wondering if there was anything cool I could do with them. They are painted, but dinged up a little. I will have to re-paint if nothing else 8)

February 2012 Update:

It's been a little slow going, but I finished the paint in my little, Dallas Hwy workshop and am close to being finished with the ceiling. I need two more lights to hang, and then finish installing the ceiling tile. See the cool little, diamond-plate trash can Mrs. Colson put in my Christmas stocking this year? :))

Pic's a little fuzzy for some reason. Probably operator error :BH

At least I got last year's collection of junk out of the way, leaving a LOT more room to work. I still need to work on those poles :dunno The last BIG thing to do is lay the floor which I plan on being a mixture of black and electric BLUE 8)

And yes, that's a Corvette clock and thermometer hanging on the left side. I know, it's COOL 8) :p

The Code of Misconduct beach towel I hung on our canopy last year was pretty cool, but the wind flapped it so much you couldn't really tell what it was. I ordered this mesh banner and it came in yesterday. It's 2 x 9 and will hang from the canopy this year in Daytona. I still have loads of bookmarks to hand out and as usual, it will be the FASTEST 6 days of the year for me and will be over with like a Guard Dad Poot in the wind. :'(

I still have to clean out some junk from along the wall and paint that lower, concrete wall a gloss black, but we're getting there....slow but sure.

But I LOVE the banner :DN
