naturegirl said:I know BB and JJ, both are respectable long time Paulding County residents. JJ's family has been in Paulding for generations. With that said, I believe I'm on the same page as both of them when it comes to lies and innuendos.
I will ask one more time, why is Heath spreading mistruths and scaring the crap out of citizens with crazy, yes I said crazy, accusations. Like BB said, why is he not interested in capping "gifts"??
I just have a huge issue with one condemning a candidate that has tax and personal financial issues while supporting one that obviously has those same issues. How can someone support Braddock and not Carruth or support Carruth and not Braddock. Don't use one's personal financial problems against them and support a candidate with the same issue.
Why can't Heath win his home county?? What do they know about him that we don't. Why isn't he running on his record?? He was a rep from 2000 to 2004 and has been in the senate since then. Twelve years of working at the Dome, can't he at least tell us something good about him, what he's done and what he sees in the future if he is elected.
I know Heath is not a liberal but he sure campaigns like one.
Thank you naturegirl. I respect and trust you very much and value your opinion.
I would like to clarify my position on my support of Carruth versus my not supporting Braddock. In my opinion, there is a rather large difference between being delinquent on personal federal and state income taxes as well as employee withholding taxes and sales taxes for Braddock's business. I understand that it is not a good thing for Carruth to have past due property taxes but I also understand the issues the builders and developers have gone through and I understand the property taxes were be paid in full when the properties sell.
I understand that neither Braddock's problems and Carruth's problems are good to have; however, I have said all along that first and foremost, Braddock's personal delinquent tax issues are what really concern me. The many, many other issues Braddock has are somewhat (but not completely) inconsequential compared to her numerous personal federal and state as well as withholding and sales tax issues - these are major issues.
I do believe that Carruth will be a much more effective legislator if elected than Heath ever thought about being. I have known Carruth for a while and the one thing I can say about him without any reservation is that he dearly loves his community. He is persuasive, he is intelligent, he is not a liar, he is fair, he is concerned about the well-being of our District. I truly can't imagine that Carruth will simply "be a puppet". I truly feel he will take charge and seek to serve the citizens of our District. I feel he will introduce legislation that is important to those he serves. I truly believe that he will not be "pushed around" down at the Capitol and will stand his ground on behalf of all of us.
We need people in office that won't be so concerned about what the other legislators and PAC's want, but rather what we as tax paying citizens want. It is a very sad thing to say but many of our legislators are currently being "bought". I don't see Carruth falling for this and being bought.
