Senate Debate

Carruth as of 7:25pm has not responded to Heath's request.

If a 5pm "deadline" was issued, and he hadn't responded by the 5pm deadline, why would you think he was going to respond at 7:25pm?

It's a lot more like grandstanding to me. Look like Carruth has drawn his own line in the sand.

I think he's afraid to show up...unless he gets Heath to talk about the useless ethics complaint. But then again, I want to see why Carruth won't pay his taxes unless the county comes after him and his over 200 liens..the worst of anyone in office or who ran for office.

I seriously doubt that.

I say that because he didn't come right on out and say okay...he used excuses.

I saw the response and to discuss the issues that the voters in the 31 District face is a good thing, not an excuse.

I voted for Heath in the last two elections, this one I didn't......I'm not sure how I'll vote in the run off. The main reason I didn't vote for Heath was because of his underhanded dirty politics.

He's been in office for several years, why isn't he telling us what he did and where he's going from here. Why is it necessary to attack his opponent. The liens are there, we are aware of the implications and I have accepted Carruth's explanation. Doesn't mean I like it, however just like with Paulette, there are two sides to every story and perhaps Carruth is handling his in much the same way Paulette is.

I still don't know how someone can support one candidate with huge tax and liability issues and slam another one for the same thing. Carruth supporters have done it to Paulette and Paulette supporters have been doing it to Carruth.

Let's hear what the candidates are going to do for our community. I'm sick of all the negativity.

Ask Carrruth about his land dealings as Commission Chairman in an area where a road was planned (now named after him) but not made public yet? And the role our then County Attorney had, who also represented Carruth personally against the County. This land was also approved for rezoning during a 14 day lapse of the moratorium to prevent any zoning changes that only 3 people in the County knew of the lapse. This is from the mid 90's I think.

Thanks Winchester, I'm familiar with all this. I was around when Carruth was Commissioner. I'm leaning toward Heath, but dang I can't stand his negativity and running such a horrific campaign.

See you gave me this information, information that everyone needs to know. It's out there, I know the basis of the mistrust of the citizens of Paulding. If it's bad stuff, let us know but dang, no need to go overboard with every single mailing.........absolutely no reason for name calling and lies. There are enough truths that have been revealed. On both sides. :)

I wasn't really "tuned in" during Carruth's commissioner days. In the time that has passed though, it appears he has done good things with his DNR job. I'm just trying to balance the lesser of these two evils in my head. And, as of right now, I see Carruth's past issues paling in comparison to the way Heath has currently conducted himself. I'm still processing this though.

My vote will continue to be for Heath. I can say that not everything has been released, worse than what already has been released, by the Heath campaign on Carruth. :Ninja

This is one of them that hasn't been released.

Getting my head over that "federal marshal" debacle created by Heath is going to take A LOT!!! I'm sorry, that was over the top and Heath CAN NOT claim innocence on that one. And that's current and fresh, not 20 years old. People grow and change. I did things 20 years ago that I may do differently today.

Anyone that was here at that time knows that "something" went down. Even someone like me who wasn't paying much attention at the time, still heard the rumblings, even if we didn't know the details.

Madea, NG...I do not like Carruth. I was here during his commissioner days. IF there was a GOOD candidate I would cast my vote for him/her. Sadly, we have Heath and Carruth...Heath will never get my vote as he is the worst possible candidate.

OK, here is a project for you religious folks out there. It may not be too much to ask God that we have candidates for office who are not about to be indicted, know how to keep it in their pants, and who have paid all of their bills. If possible, it might help that that person doesn't want to redistribute the wealth. Expecting it sure hasn't worked. I know this is asking a lot, but you have two years to work on it. Better start now.
