The simple fact that an egotistical lowlife is the only person willing to tell it like it is, is a perfect example of how far gone this country is.

Make no mistake, I detest Donald Trump.
But that doesn't mean he isn't telling a lot of things, just like they are.

WHY? OH WHY, can't the rest of our so called leaders do the same?
:dunno IDK why they won't. All they have to do is look at what Trump is saying and see that is what the people want right now. Someone has to be smart enough to recognize that, I hope.
As for Trump getting the actual nomination, I do not see it, but I would really think that sitting out an election is not an option at this point. We might still lose, and at this rate I am not even close to thinking we will win, but I am not going to be one that sits home and lets another Democrat and their ideas win without at least a fight. (vote)

Disclaimer: I do not think that all Democrats are bad, but Hillary looks to be the nominee at this point and after this long with Obama.... I am not even going there. :girlsaysno

But what do you really "win" if Trump becomes President ? ? ?

He is fake Conservative who has supported liberal causes...

:whistle
I think he does have experience in running a business. Would he be perfect, absolutely not. Is he better than the leading democratic candidate at this minute? He absolutely is. That he has supported liberal causes in the past does not bother me a bit. Some causes I actually think are worth supporting, but that aside, yes it is winning if we do not have someone in there that will destroy what we have left of our country.
I really do not believe he will be the GOP nomination. The sad thing is that I think it will be Bush and just his name is going to hurt him no matter what he does or says. Everything is still Bush's fault you know. :huh /s

Truth....but if he wins that means Hillary loses. That's worth something.

Perfectly worded. That's a great description.

Eh, I am not so sure about that. He is talking a good game right now and it is what people want to hear. Maybe they are serious about protecting our country and not playing into the political games the rest play?

And that amplifies the fundamental GOP flaw for the 2016 election cycle. If certain candidates get the nod then many GOP voters will not support that nominee (I'm one in that camp). I've stated before that if certain ones are nominated that I'll just stay home that day. Actually I wouldn't stay home, I'd actually vote Libertarian. One this is certain though, I WILL NOT PUNCH THE BUTTON JUST BECAUSE IT HAS GOP BESIDE THE NAME. I've voting on principal this cycle, if my candidate loses then so be it.

I'm not a Trump supporter, I'm just enjoying watching him piss off the GOP establishment by being out of character as one of their candidates. I don't mind his abrasive personality, maybe we need that after 6 plus years of the current wimp, but I do have serious reservations about many of his political views.

It's going to be very entertaining to watch how this unfolds over the next several months. :popcorn

I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this post. I read you as a moderately conservative person. The two top Democrat contenders are an admitted Socialist and a corrupt and lying liberal. Even with all of Trump's faults; how could he be worse than either of them? At least the man has a record of leadership and getting things done.

That should tell you how strongly I feel about Trump.

Where is LTD when we need him? Come on, let's start a petition to get him on the next ballot.

Saying what people want to hear?!?!?! Maybe if you appreciate bravado more than tact....other than that, I see no reason why anyone would want to hear what that windsock has to say.

As someone rooting for the dems to retain the WH, I hope you guys all remain fixated on Trump. The guy literally has a 0% chance of winning the presidency. I mean, we're talking the GOP primary and, given the clown show that the GOP gave us in the 2012 primaries, I suppose it's not completely impossible for Trump to get the GOP nomination but, in a general when people with actual brains head out to the polls, Trump would be lucky to get 40% of the vote.

Speaking of 2012, the GOP is ready to give us another clown show. The debates are going to be a blast to watch as a progressive. I think there might be 2-3 serious candidates out of a roster of 15-20. Good luck with all that!

McCain is a moron who is a RINO and has done much damage by not holding to conservative ideals, who graduated near the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy, who was responsible for at number of issues with planes while in the Navy and who some say was responsible for his own crash, and who started this whole fracas by calling Trump supporters something like crazy hobbits. The Donald has doubled down and is refusing to apologize...I'm glad. And I love his campaign slogan - Make America Great Again. As stradial says, this is Ronald Reagan territory.

If Trump wins the Republican nomination, that's a guarantee that I'll vote Democrat. And frankly, I wouldn't want to be compared to Reagan. His talk was better than his walk.

But, I don't think what he said was out of line based on past history. I look back to how John Kerry was treated when he ran. Whatever his faults, he was a veteran. This and much worse was said about him, and no one on the Republican side batted an eye. So, the only reason anyone is crying about it now is because McCain is a Republican.
At least the man has a record of leadership and getting things done.

And bankruptcies, ex-wives, military deferments....

I cannot believe that some of y'all are taking this narcissist seriously...really says a lot about just how rudderless the GOP is these days.

:)) You do realize none of us here want him to win, but what he is saying, tactful or not (ok...not), is what many want to hear from a presidential candidate.

I do agree that the field of candidates at this point is not promising. There are too many of them and none that I see at this point that I want to vote for president.

Do you think Hillary will get the nomination? Is she who you want to see in the WH? (I am asking I do not know what you want :dunno or why you want the dems to retain the WH.)

You youngsters have no idea how low the moral was in this country after Jimmy Carter, well, it wasn't as bad as it is now, but back then we had more real Americans so more people were aware that it was bad.
Reagan came in, did and said things that made you proud to be an American.

That is what Donald Trump is doing, saying things that need to be said.
Like close the borders, kick the criminals out of this country, shoot down any one trying to break into the country.......OK, I think that last one is just mine...make the criminals be responsible for their crimes, get the loafers and beggars off welfare, start back up the poor houses and work houses......ooops, sorry again, got a little Charlie Dickens there for a minute...and be proud your an American.

As bad as this country is, it is one hell of a lot better than all the other countries combined.
I mean who in the blazes is trying to break into Canada, France, England, Scotland, Ireland, those sorry ass made after 1918 middle European countries, heck, any other country than the good ole US of A?

Trump needs to remember one of Reagan's cardinal rules though...."never speak ill of another Republican".

The real enemy is the Democrats.

The real enemy is the Democrats.
The real enemy is anyone who is trying to destroy this country from without or within.
That covers a lot of groups and people, some Democrats and some Republicans and a lot of criminals.
(those kind that break into countries)

Y'all enjoy that high road while Hillary becomes president. If you think Obama is bad (and I REALLY do), just wait until you get the Hildabeast.

I understand what many of you are feeling about the GOP; I am also pretty put out with them.

But the fact still remains that there is currently no 3rd part candidate who has a snowball's chance of winning the presidency. And the Electoral College system makes it nearly impossible for a 3rd party candidate to win, even if they are a good one. I don't like that one bit, but it's fact.

So what do we do? The real effect of voting 3rd party in the next election will be to help elect the Democrat.

It sucks, it really does. But we need to be pragmatic about things.
