Our beloved country is gone.
The simple fact that an egotistical lowlife is the only person willing to tell it like it is, is a perfect example of how far gone this country is.

Make no mistake, I detest Donald Trump.
But that doesn't mean he isn't telling a lot of things, just like they are.

WHY? OH WHY, can't the rest of our so called leaders do the same?

:dunno IDK why they won't. All they have to do is look at what Trump is saying and see that is what the people want right now. Someone has to be smart enough to recognize that, I hope.
As for Trump getting the actual nomination, I do not see it, but I would really think that sitting out an election is not an option at this point. We might still lose, and at this rate I am not even close to thinking we will win, but I am not going to be one that sits home and lets another Democrat and their ideas win without at least a fight. I think he does have experience in running a business. Would he be perfect, absolutely not. Is he better than the leading democratic candidate at this minute? He absolutely is. That he has supported liberal causes in the past does not bother me a bit. Some causes I actually think are worth supporting, but that aside, yes it is winning if we do not have someone in there that will destroy what we have left of our country.

And that amplifies the fundamental GOP flaw for the 2016 election cycle. If certain candidates get the nod then many GOP voters will not support that nominee (I'm one in that camp). I've stated before that if certain ones are nominated that I'll just stay home that day. Actually I wouldn't stay home, I'd actually vote Libertarian. One this is certain though, I WILL NOT PUNCH THE BUTTON JUST BECAUSE IT HAS GOP BESIDE THE NAME. I've voting on principal this cycle, if my candidate loses then so be it.

I'm not a Trump supporter, I'm just enjoying watching him piss off the GOP establishment by being out of character as one of their candidates. I don't mind his abrasive personality, maybe we need that after 6 plus years of the current wimp, but I do have serious reservations about many of his political views.

It's going to be very entertaining to watch how this unfolds over the next several months. opcorn

Even with all of Trump's faults; how could he be worse than either of them? At least the man has a record of leadership and getting things done.

As someone rooting for the dems to retain the WH, I hope you guys all remain fixated on Trump. The guy literally has a 0% chance of winning the presidency. I mean, we're talking the GOP primary and, given the clown show that the GOP gave us in the 2012 primaries, I suppose it's not completely impossible for Trump to get the GOP nomination but, in a general when people with actual brains head out to the polls, Trump would be lucky to get 40% of the vote.

Speaking of 2012, the GOP is ready to give us another clown show. The debates are going to be a blast to watch as a progressive. I think there might be 2-3 serious candidates out of a roster of 15-20. Good luck with all that!

If Trump wins the Republican nomination, that's a guarantee that I'll vote Democrat. And frankly, I wouldn't want to be compared to Reagan. His talk was better than his walk.

But, I don't think what he said was out of line based on past history. I look back to how John Kerry was treated when he ran. Whatever his faults, he was a veteran. This and much worse was said about him, and no one on the Republican side batted an eye. So, the only reason anyone is crying about it now is because McCain is a Republican.

At least the man has a record of leadership and getting things done.

I do agree that the field of candidates at this point is not promising. There are too many of them and none that I see at this point that I want to vote for president.

You youngsters have no idea how low the moral was in this country after Jimmy Carter, well, it wasn't as bad as it is now, but back then we had more real Americans so more people were aware that it was bad.
Reagan came in, did and said things that made you proud to be an American.

I understand what many of you are feeling about the GOP; I am also pretty put out with them.

But the fact still remains that there is currently no 3rd part candidate who has a snowball's chance of winning the presidency. And the Electoral College system makes it nearly impossible for a 3rd party candidate to win, even if they are a good one. I don't like that one bit, but it's fact.

So what do we do? The real effect of voting 3rd party in the next election will be to help elect the Democrat.

It sucks, it really does. But we need to be pragmatic about things.
