Covid is right here, and it's getting bad fast.

So... when do we see the first Delta/Lambda specific Vax? Continuing to use a Vax that is not effective against the current virus is questionable.

Also, I wonder if this will change any of the government pricing? The US is paying millions+ to Pfizer under the original contract, I wonder if it had any clauses about what happens after full approval?

Does that mean now in 5 years if there are serious side effects, there can be class actions suits because without the emergency status they are now responsible? Or because we all took it prior to approval if there are long term problems we are on our own, suck it up buttercup?

After the Lambda Lambda Lambda variant, will there be an Omega Moo?

Welp... it finally found me.

Woke up with a sore throat on Friday, tried to pretend I wasn't sick.

Pumped my body full of vitamins and went jogging... did all of the chores and went swimming.

By bedtime, it was clear that I was not going to escape the illness.

Spent all day Saturday and Sunday lying on the sofa with a headache, hacking up phlegm.

On Monday I woke up feeling a bit better, but by afternoon it was kicking my butt again.

The lethargy is incredible, it's all I can do to make some soup or wash a few dishes.

The fever comes and goes, thankfully my lungs are clear, but I have been feeling somewhat dizzy and lightheaded.

Today is day 5... doing okay so far, but feeling pretty crappy.

Did you get a Covid test to confirm it? It sounds a lot like the crap I had a couple of weeks ago, except I didn't have a fever. I had to chalk it up to Golden Rod and Ragweed pollen.

That's the problem with the Covid, it closely resembles a number of things.

Yep. Every time someone gets sick, there is a chance of a mutation, and if it's a big enough change in the protein that IDs covid, it will avoid the antibodies the vax has created.

We’ll duhhhh, of course there will be. It will be like naming new hurricanes, only with a letter.

When I had my cold with stuffiness and sore throat but no fever or extreme tiredness, I chalked it up to a sinus infection. I called my doc and got the good ole z-pack. My throat finally feels normal again. Still some junk up in there but it is almost gone. No COVID, I did a home test and it waa negative.

I also have been taking a product called Immuneti for about 6 months now. It is supposed to help boost the immune system. I think it helped keep this from becoming something more severe. I also chomp down Vitamin C every day.

Get a fingertip oxygen meter if you don't have one. At first sign that your O2 levels are dropping. get help. Don't wait too long like I did.

No loss of taste or smell, but I have developed a serious aversion to most foods.

Can only tolerate a few items... cantaloupe, raisin bran, sourdough toast.

I'm not sick to my stomach, but nothing appeals to me.

Going to order some pizza tonight and see if that will spark my appetite... I've lost 6 pounds in 4 days.

:dunno:

I was the same. Still had taste and smell, but it was skewed, and the very thought of most food was plain nasty! Fruity stuff and toast was about all I could tolerate.

Mine got much worse after the first 3-4 days, so please be careful.
