Covid is right here, and it's getting bad fast.

I had to see my family doctor today and he looked like poop warmed over. He said they always see potential Covid patients after regular hours and see them outside. The usual number was 1 or 2 a week, then 1 or 2 a day, yesterday was 7, today was looking like at least 15. He had 3 die since Monday.

Y'all be careful out there.

Yep. Dunno what is happening in Georgia, but we went almost best to almost worst. Still at 1.19 today, only behind California.

One of my c0-workers just told me he tested positive. We're all working from home now, so no problem for me, but we had been working in the lab together in atlanta in Nov.

All I can say is we have masks out here. I think all they do is spread germs, 'cause everyone is sick... colds, other viruses, and Covid.

I blame the effing masks.

I know people say they work. I don't see the results.

They are constantly touched because they don't stay in place, so all the germs from the hands go on the mask, then you breath through the germs. Viruses are so small they can't be screen out by mier fabric. The science is not there to support that.

Masks are a false sense of security.

Masks don't stop the spread of the virus plain and simple. If it did we wouldn't be seeing the seasonal spike that we are seeing. (I am here in Kalifornia- I have to wear one now. The first part of the year we did not, and fewer people got the virus or colds. Remember there were not enough for the first responders so they asked the public not to wear a mask....?)

I just dropped about $130.00 on twenty, surgical grade, N95 masks.

Here's now the deal, I'm only going to the grocery store maybe twice a week and then also headed to the gym (I have to, this isn't an option for me right about now).

I agree, the masks I've been wearing were for nothing much more than show and to allow myself entrance to a store or gym.
It seems the vaccine(s) are just around the corner and if I have to self-isolate until then, so be it.

The mask mandates and the lockdowns don't work. Self isolation probably will. I'm staying home, but if I venture out, I'm wearing a military grade mask.

Paranoid? Yeah... maybe.... probably

Covid fatigue? without a doubt.

so it goes

The prosecution rests your honor.

The mask doesn't protect you, it partially protects the other people from you. Ergo, everyone wears one, then everyone is partially protected. As for touching, yes you may pick up the virus. Ergo, carry hand sanitizer and limit touching things in public to only that which is necessary, then use the sanitizer before touching your face. I feel sorry for folks like Far West and Stonewall that have to wear the mask at work all day, as I start to hyperventilate after 10 minutes. I think we have to stay the course until we get the vaccine.

Masks can actually help all parties, but yes they are more effective when worn by the pitcher than the catcher. The simple reason is that they knock down the droplets that the Wuhan rides on.

But as pointed out above, improper use and too much fiddling, fingers in nose and mouth, etc can be bad.

IMO, they help, but are far from being 100% effective.

I am completely fine with voluntary mask wearing, just don't want the government forcing us to.

GA is still at 1.19 today, but now there are three states worse than us, the worst being AZ.

@MudFlap what are you guys doing over there?

We're touching everything and then putting it all in our mouths.

also, the cases here are exploding but the death count is way down.
It's probably because we're now flooded with the folks escaping the winter weather back east.
there's tons of snowbirds out here with Illinois license plates

I am stating... Biden acts like no one has worn a mask... he is saying 100 days.

Let me make this 100% clear. ALL OF KALIFORNIA HAS WORN THEM FOR 240 DAYS.

The effing Governor just SHUT OUR STATE DOWN FOR THE THIRD TIME... masks don't matter.

This is a virus. Cloth will not stop a virus - as Kalifornia is experiencing. The flu, a virus, spikes in the winter... and naturally so is covid.

240 days... why would 100 more make an effing difference? Because Biden will then take credit since after the 100 days (from January 20th) which will be May 1st, we will have herd immunity via the vaccine that the Trump administration helped get to the public.

The vaccine will be given to all those over 60, people with underlying health conditions, and first responders... starting in the next 48 hours...guess what? By May 1st, No more death...kumbaya... Joe and the Ho saved America with masks for 100 days!!!!!!

The media will not correct the narrative. They will NOT say:
  1. No, Trump pushed through several vaccines in one year- he got rid of things that slow down bringing a vaccine to the public.
  2. That it usually takes 3 to 4 years to develop a vaccine
  3. They will not remind Americans that the vaccine was given back in December initially to the 1% who die from the virus due to age and the ones who due to underlying conditions often ended up in the ICU and possibly dead.
They will give Joe and the Ho the credit.

Kalifornians have by mandate worn masks anytime we are not in our house or car since May...and short of locking us in our homes, the virus does what for centuries a virus does... it spreads.

Same as yesterday

Well look at that ... we match Georgia... but we are mandated to have masks and we can't leave our house.

One of my employee's husband just tested positive. Luckily she worked only Monday this week... it is getting closer.

Monday she was upset she could not know the name of the employee who had Covid at our hotel last week. (By law names can't be disclosed to employees due to HIPPA.) She was mad that she could have been exposed, but would not know because she was not told who it was... Little did she know her exposure to Corona Virus was much closer to home...;)

Her husband had two bad days, now feels fine. Never had a headache. Does have a cough. No loss of taste, or smell. Appetite is good. Monday night was the first bad night with congestion, he went the next day for testing, just received results today. He was surprised how few of the symptoms he has, yet is positive. He works where they test with temp check each day, and must answer questions. We do the same thing. You can't go to work if you are sick.

I found out last night that three generations of a family I know has COVID. They recently went to a party at someone's house, and one person there had COVID and didn't know it. Everyone who was there caught it.

Numbers in Georgia still the same today at 1.19.
