Covid is right here, and it's getting bad fast.

Fun fact : “An increase of only a degree or so in body temperature has been shown to slow
the replication rate of viruses by a factor of two hundred—an astonishing increase in self-defense
from only a very modest rise in warmth.” - Bill Bryson, The Body: A Guide for Occupants

A couple more fun facts I learned from this book :

1. Every individual has a very unique immune system...

2. The immune system is largely mysterious and very poorly understood by science...

:dunno:

Wife and I had our antibodies tested today. Mine came back extremely strong, doc said strongest she has seen for someone unvaccinated. She also said it was at the level of someone who is fully vaccinated. I asked her if I should get vaccinated and she recommended that I wait.

Wife's was not as strong, but still very good. Doc also recommended that she wait about getting vaccinated.

Day 8 :

Jogging on the treadmill today... 2 miles !!!
Lung function is good... almost 100%.
A bit of nagging afternoon cough, when I try to lay down and watch TV.

Takeaways :

I might be lucky or building up my immune system with exercise and vitamins over the past weeks and months
has helped to keep the virus at bay. On the very first day of symptoms, I attempted to sweat it out with vigorous
exercise and I do believe that helped a bit. It was not like influenza, but it was also not like your regular head cold.
The lethargy was incredible, zaps ALL of your energy. I could sleep for 10 hours every night and still wake up bone tired !!!
(the flu nearly killed me at a healthy 28 years old, so I've seen worse.)

It does seem to linger a lot longer than your regular cold virus... still hacking up gobs of occasional mucus. :(

Best practices :

Vitamin D (both sun and pills)
Vitamin C
Zinc
Baby aspirin every 12 hours
Elderberry Syrup shots (mixed with pineapple juice)
Constant hydration (seriously, drink like 10-12 glasses of water per day to flush out the system.)
Constant urination from all the water... :D
Sleep on your stomach
NyQuil before bed

I knew this would happen eventually, so I tried to prepare. It still knocked me down for 4-5 whole days...
Overall I am grateful that it was not worse, and happy to welcome my new antibodies !!!
