Rubio is a butt kiss. There is such a thing as tradition and etiquette. Generally speaking the losing candidates who speak during the convention publicly endorses the nominee. It's as simple as that. Make whatever excuse you want, it doesn't change the fact that it's a "tacky move" to speak yet not endorse. Cruz would expect no less if he was the nominee. I actually gained some respect for Rubio and will remember him in the future even though I personally think he ran a crappy campaign.
That's why I said, "Generally." There have been exceptions.Well here ya go, folks.
Our beloved Ronald Reagan never endorsed Gerald Ford. In fact, he said things very similar to what Cruz did.

Was there a big to do about a pledge and support in that election?Well here ya go, folks.

Rubio is definitely a butt kisser. He ran for the senate expressing great conservative values to gain the support of the Tea Party, only to turn his back on those values once sworn into office. Rubio ran for the senate because because he had aspirations to be president and he quickly fell in lockstep with the GOPe.Rubio is a butt kiss.
Like him or not, I think Cruz truly believes that Trump is a poor choice. And remember what Trump said about Cruz's family. I can't find fault with him for standing on his principles here.
I have learned that Trump read Cruz's speech beforehand and approved it. Too bad the Trump loyals can't be as big about it as Trump was.
The Democrats are running scared after that barn burner of a speech last night.
Back then it was always expected that if you did not win the nomination, that you would help the candidate's campaign. Reagan not did not endorse Ford, he refused Ford's request to make appearances at campaign events on his behalf. Was there a big to do about a pledge and support in that election?
I'm impressed that you at least tried to watch it. You're coming around, slowly but surely. (And to answer one of your previous questions, no, opinions should be welcomed by both candidates and their supporters. We all have opinions and seldom agree on everything).I tried to watch the whole speech but kept falling asleep so I turned it off before he finished. That's not meant as a dig against Trump (really!)...I was just tired and it was getting late.
Lemme clarify something...
I'm not so much defending Cruz as I'm trying to make the point that this continued war from Trump supporters on Cruz or other Republican candidates will divide the right leaning voters and hurt Trump on election day.
Trump and his loyals should be extending their hands to the rest of us with a message of :Join Us", instead of "your guy sucks".
I think Trump is finally starting to do that. Now if his loyals will cool their jets.
