Trump team eyes Nov. 14 announcement

Let's skip ahead to 2024....we'll assume Trump is the Republican nominee. Let's also assume somehow someone convinced him to stop talking about 2020 every two seconds and he actually is doing well bashing Biden and promoting his own plan for the future.

All Biden/Newsom/Harris/whomever has to do during a debate is say something like "Trump, you were such a sore loser in 2020, clearly you haven't moved past that. Why are you such a sore loser?".

The best response from Trump would be something like "I do believe there were some irregularities in the 2020 vote, but that was 4 years ago. I'm here to talk about your (assuming Biden is debating him) or your party's (assuming Newsom/Harris/etc.) performance over the last 4 years and how I intend to make the lives of Americans better by doing.....".

However, we all know the 'sore loser' comment would push Trump over the edge and 'bad' Trump would emerge at that point leading to fewer votes.

Assuming Trump is in on it, that would be awesome, but wouldn't it have been easier for him to simply say "I'm not running in 2024. I fully support DeSantis and urge all my supporters to vote for him".
Because this way he and DeSantis are getting loads of air time.

It's just a thought

For the record, and I may be wrong, but I don't think he will announce he's running. I think he will either delay any decision or announce that he isn't running. I'm good with either, or even if he does decide to run.

I have considered that possibility. He could be building up to a hand-off to DeSantis.

Trump is a lot of things, but he's not stupid.

I think Trump inadvertently shot himself in the foot last week. He misread the populous - once again.

He wants to hurt those who he feels will run for president before they announce because he wants to win. This is the only way he knows how to do it, by labelling his opponent with a catchy negative nickname.

At this point, conservatives are tired of being shit on, and in the public view... Trump just shit on the few conservatives that have a chance to help change our country from the horrible direction we are headed.

He did, but he's getting a lot of help. The media is taking full advantage of this election to blame it all on Trump. As I said, he probably didn't help some people, but there's a whole lot more wrong than just Trump. Allowing the media to make us blame just him keeps us from solving the other problems.

Trump helping the media by continuously running his mouth. Trump attacks anyone in the party who disagrees with him or he sees as a threat to campaign against him. This is what the liberal political pundits used to say there was a division within the GOP and they were correct. Trump LOST in 2020 and a lot of Republicans just wanted to move forward and address the issues that mattered to the voters. Not Trump though. He wanted his pound of flesh and kept reminding people of that at all the rallies. Trump was his own worst enemy and it caused a lot of Republicans to become collateral damage.

I'm sorry but Trump is not a leader. Leaders don't cause division. They don't tear people down. They do the opposite. Face the facts because Trump did cause division in the nation and the GOP. He chose to tear people down rather than work with them to gain their support. There's an old saying in the Army, "Take care of your soldiers and they will take care of you." Trump had a revolving door at the WH.

I agree the Media and all the institutions the dems control are afraid that Trump will make a comeback for President. They will continue to target him as they have done since 2016.

He is a system disrupter and they are afraid of him.

They will do the same to DeSantis, or any other system disrupter. They are moving forward with the WEF and One World Government... they were winning until Donald came along.

Look what DeSantis has been able to do in Florida. Stopped schools from trying to groom and pervert our children, got rid of teaching CRT in schools and corporations. He has tightened up voting.

The FBI, CIA, DOJ, EPA, and all the other federal organizations can't do anything to DeSantis as a Governor... as a President it will be game on. They will go after all family members as well as any cabinet members or staffers, just as they did to Trump.

I'm not denying any of that. I'm just saying that if we buy into the media's game that it's ALL Trump's fault, little will change and the GOP will keep losing.
We have lots to fix, and much of it has zero to do with Trump. Actually, Trump tried to fix some of it while he was president, but COVID came along and changed everything.

During this election season, Trump's mouth wrote a lot of checks that his ass couldn't cash. He told the voters the candidates he endorsed would win because he endorsed them. You can't blame the news media for not passing on stuff like that. You also have to keep in mind he knew nothing about the majority of those he endorsed. He endorsed them because they all said the same thing, "Trump had the election stolen from him in 2020." Let's face it. Most of them were terrible candidates.

Again, I'm not disagreeing. But if we blame it all on Trump we're playing right into the left's hands.

I'm not blaming it all on Trump. I'm blaming most of it on him. As far as playing into the left's hands. Trump got played well by the left this election cycle. Trump needs to give politics up. He's now a pariah to the GOP. As soon as more conservatives see that, the better off the party will be.

When the time is right the media will devour DeSantis, but somehow it will be Trump's fault again. It's such an easy excuse.
