US General: Half of All Afghan District Centers Under Taliban Control

On the surface I have to agree, it's completely insane. But for some reason my gut is telling me that deals were reached and agreements made behind the scenes with both sides in on it. This is the opportunity for which Taliban and ISIS supporters have long awaited...a chance to "show the world" they can be civilized and "just rulers." Now I don't think for one minute it will happen that way, they'll let the opportunity slip through their evil little hands like most heathens do.

Wow....this Biden speech. He is clearly not up to the task.
I recently worked with a gentleman who was eventually forced into retirement (he was in his 70's, so it was time.).
He had dementia and would deny that he had any mental decline. Biden acts exactly like this other guy.

I'm listening to his speech again right now.
He doesn't understand the difference between the decision to leave Afghanistan and his debacle of the process in leaving Afghanistan.

I wouldn't trust this guy to fold laundry.

And I'll point out once again...the Democrats knew this guy didn't have all his marbles. They talked about it in 2019 at the debates, yet backed the dude in the election.

The whole party has blood on their hands.

If Biden is forced to 'Retire', who does Harris pick as VP,,, realistically? Also, once she is sworn in, who becomes president of the Senate? If there is no president it will be a 50/50 fight for the new VP approval,, (they would need to be approved by the Senate, right). There will be deals made and money will rain from the sky no doubt.
Me thinks the pick will be Warren to keep the line of succession stacked if and when Harris fails... Ideas???

Hopefully the Republicans would hold out against Warren. I think it would have to be a moderate Democrat to get any Republicans to vote yes.

But the longer the GOP holds out, it leaves Poloski as the next in line. That's a scary thought.

We have a mess people….a complete mess. I hope the Trump haters are happy now.
Yep, they are responsible for this too.

As I have been saying, this election was decided not on which candidate people like, but pure hate. And now that same kind of hate is killing our people.

Hate is NEVER the answer. NEVER.

There's a lot of people to hold responsible for our failure in Afghanistan and that includes W. This war was never prosecuted the way it should have been. Even while W was president, the rules of engagement tied the hands of American forces there. Fire only when fired upon was part of the rules of engagement. Many members on both sides of the aisle in Congress insisted on those rules of engagement.

Politicians have hindered military operations since the Korean War. Look at how World War II was fought and then compare it to Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan. When we had both the North Koreans and the Chinese on the run, Truman prevented McArthur from pursuing those fleeing forces beyond the 38th parallel. There would have mostly been one Korea if McArthur were allowed to chase them down.

Vietnam and Afghanistan are very similar to one another and share the same result; failure to win because politicians thought they were better at telling the military what to do than generals were.

During World War II, Eisenhower and MacArthur were told to defeat our enemies. They weren't restrained by rules of engagement like we had in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

This war was winnable for the US had it not been concerned about what other countries would think of us.

Very true, and I doubt if Manchin will go with her either. If we looked real close, we should see someone the dems are, and have been, grooming for the job. I really don't think it would be Pelousy, as she is too valuable as speaker. It could be a dem Governor, but that's a tough one too because of the Covid lock downs. This should really be interesting.
