Dang, moving along slower than I anticipated. Should be well more than 50% by now.

Conveniently we’ll need to go back in to regain control just when a new cover story is needed in the news cycle to deflect attention from the current administration’s failures.

The officials say the U.S. conducted two strikes overnight in Kandahar, targeting stolen military vehicles and equipment that was directly threatening the Afghan military. As the Taliban take over land they have been collecting Afghan military vehicles and equipment left behind.

According to the officials, the U.S. will continue to conduct strikes against the Taliban in support of the Afghan National Security Forces until at least the end of August, when the U.S. military mission officially ends.

It’s not clear if the Biden administration will grant the U.S. military the authority to continue airstrikes against the Taliban beyond that date or if the strikes will only be allowed against al Qaeda or ISIS targets.

My gut feeling says there's a bigger threat on the horizon than the goat rapers in Afghanistan. We need to look towards China/Russia and start preparing for "unpleasantries". Think about Taiwan and China's aggression there. Think about the Crimean Peninsula and the Russian's aggression there... They see we have a weak president and are pushing the envelope. When will the old fossil (Biden) wake up and realize we're getting close to World War 3?

Typical scare tactic (think N Korea). Beating the war drum all while having their hand out for bribe and hush money. Sorry but "they" (fill in any foolish country's name here) know one direct strike against us would result in devastating retaliation. Our administration may be lame and an international embarrassment but our military is still a force to avoid direct conflict with under any circumstance.

There will be blood. The Taliban are blood thirsty zealots with the mentality of cavemen. I feel sorry for the innocent people of that country. I wish they could raise a leader that cared about his/her people and would changed the country for the better. I agree with those who say the people should rise up and take control of their own fate. But it takes a very strong leader. That is a simplistic view from thousands of miles away sitting in my air conditioned house worrying about which of the many items from my fridge/pantry I am going to cook tonight while I entertain myself watching TV or playing music or browsing the internet without worrying about being "cleansed" by some illiterate tribal chief from next door.
