Covid is right here, and it's getting bad fast.

This has been by far the worst day of symptoms. We drove to Alpharetta for the antibody infusion only to find out I was running a 103.2 fever which almost disqualified me. They called the Resident doctor in for a consult, he agreed to proceed. The infusion was painless and took only about 20 minutes. Then they check vitals every 15 minutes for an hour. I couldn’t have asked for a better g roup of doctors. By the time I left the fever was down to 102, I just checked again and it’s now 99.2 so it’s headed in the right directions. My lung remain clear, they check them then decided no X-rays were needed which was a relief. Oxygen levels did drop to 90 for the first time but tonight are back up to 93. They were very clear, if I get any worse I am to go to the ER so I’m praying that doesn’t happen. Our daughter also tested positive today so that’s a concern. She and her family are living with us while we build our homes so it’s like one big Petri dish around here. So far the Queen, our SIL, and our grandson are negative.

The Queen got the first round of the Moderna V today. Once I recover I will wait the 90 days then get my first round. We were never anti-vax but do believe it should be left up the the individual. After it hitting close to home it’s time for us to use common sense. In our case we are now comfortable with moving forward with it.

This crap sucks….really bad.
I Was about to text you to see how you were doing.

I suspect the infusion will get you on the mend quickly.

Sending prayers it doesn't get any worse and goes away quickly.

Sorry you feel so badly.

The young 20 something gal I work with, who got the Delta Covid in August, continues to wear a mask because she said she is so afraid she will get it again. She said she has never been so sick. She was fully vaccinated. It took from August 24th when she first got body aches, fever and felt horrible until September 14 for he to get over it.

Glad you got the infusion. Be ready to get it for any other older family members who come down with Covid.

Early treatment needs to be focused on, since I think this will be with us the way the flu is.

Feeling better today?

Feeling better today?
Definitely feel better than yesterday, I'm just lucky they didn't send me to the ER. Low grade fever this morning and now it's normal. Oxygen levels are back up to 94-95% range. b/p and pulse are at acceptable levels, especially considering all the meds I'm forcing through my system. I was actually able to log in and work some today but I'm not taking phone calls or talking, only doing computer work. I just pray it continues to improve. Our oldest daughter feels better too but now her husband may be coming down with it. Hopefully not.

I thought he had already had it?

Day 7 quarantine update: Feeling a little better, still coughing but not as intense. Definitely had a few good moments so hopefully I’m heading in the right direction. Oldest daughter and SIL are both doing some better as well. Maybe we’ll enjoy Christmas around here after all. Just praying for no relapse. Was able to work until 3pm then had to rest.

Good news!

Day 8 quarantine update: What a difference a day makes. Today was by far my best day, the crud in my throat finally released which has allowed me to breath much easier. Coughing was minimal and zero fever.

As they say, things is finally looking up.
You were fortunate to get the antibodies, they likely sped your recovery up greatly.

Glad you're feeling better.

Unfortunately, I can't read this entire article without paying for it. So all I have is the headline and a bit more

CDC: No Record of Naturally Immune Transmitting COVID-19

I did, however, find this on the CDC website

Five studies used RT-PCR positivity to define initial infection. In these studies, primary RT-PCR-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection decreased risk of subsequent infection by 80–93% for at least 6–9 months [54-58]. Studies specifically assessing persons seropositive with anti-N and anti-S antibodies following infection [16, 45] found slightly higher protective effects (89–93%).

And this

In one of the prospective cohort studies, over 25,000 healthcare workers were tested using RT-PCR testing every 2 weeks, allowing a more comprehensive ascertainment of reinfections. This study found that a history of previous RT-PCR-confirmed infection provided 93% protection against a subsequent symptomatic infection, 52% protection against asymptomatic infection, and 84% protection against overall infection with SARS-CoV-2 [54].]/quote]

And look at the comparison between vaccination and natural against the Delta

The Office of National Statistics in the United Kingdom used data from a large-scale longitudinal community survey of COVID-19 to compare the risk of infection among fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated, unvaccinated/previously infected, and unvaccinated/uninfected persons during two different periods 1) when Alpha was the predominant variant (December 2020–May 2021) and 2) when Delta was the predominant variant (May–August 2021) [81]. Based on results that included over 26,000 RT-PCR positive tests, they found full vaccination to provide the greatest protection during the Alpha predominant period (79% vs. 65% reduction in risk), but equivalent protection from full vaccination and infection during the Delta predominant period (67% vs. 71% reduction in risk).[/quote

The CDC continues to claim even people who have been infected will have better immunity with the vaccine. Perhaps, I have nothing to dispute that. But the way I read all this, natural immunity is probably as good as the vaccine, especially against the Delta. And, natural immunity likely lasts as long if not longer.

So why is our government still not recognizing natural immunity?

He also said natural immunity is 27 times more protective against COVID than vaccination, and there is no scientific evidence that people with natural immunity should get vaccinated. He said anyone who has NOT had COVID should get vaccinated.

He did mention that this administration is in denial over natural immunity.
