Covid is right here, and it's getting bad fast.

My dad is scheduled for his first round injection tomorrow at 7:20am. Even though I have my reservations it’s his decision. I just asked him to call me when he gets back home and told him not to rush it, don’t drive until he’s comfortable. I’m sure he’ll be fine.
Update: He called at 7:30, all clear. They took him early. It was the Moderna vaccine, he is scheduled for round 2 in four weeks.

The Health Department called this morning to say we could come in at 3pm for the Moderna shot,,, I am now vaccinated! They didn't even take our temperatures, we filled out the forms, showed our Id's, got the shot and waited 10 minutes for any reaction. We go back in 4 weeks for round 2. My wife was reading somewhere that a booster for the new strain might be needed in 5 months and possibly on an annual basis.

My wife is trying, along with everything she's doing for my folks, to try to get the shot for her parents. It sure seems hit or miss.
Have her check with the Pharmacies. Walgreen's in Hiram has the vaccine on the way, and when they get it they will make appointments. CVS and Kroger I think are getting it as well, so have her talk to your pharmacist for details. My wife was trying to add our names to every list she could find, but by the time she would find them, they would be full.

I have two more out with Covid. Still spreading all over the place. (Masks don't work,) over 280 days with masks our hospitals are full and over 2700 a day in my city are getting sick.

But ol' Newsom, afraid of recall, just lifted the restriction one tier so we can open up hair salons, gyms, restaurants to dine outside at 25% capacity. They should not have been shut in the first place, that is not where the spread is coming from.

He is such a hypocrite... he has overreached all year.. now he fears the citizens... it is about time.

The two owners of a small company I do IT work for just tested positive. That brings the total number of people I know directly that have been infected since Christmas to 22. Total number before Christmas was 1.

Yeah, crap got real for a couple of months or so. Hoping we're slowing back down now. The next couple of weeks will tell if these numbers are somewhat correct.

One more of my employees told me they tested positive today...

The employee has not been at work the last few weeks, due to an at home injury, so no one at work was exposed. Their brother and mom came down with Covid ( multigenerational hispanic family,) and now they have mild symptoms and tested positive.

In my heart I feel like, if all these employees have had it, the danger of me getting it and giving it to my mom goes down... but the reality is that all of my co-workers are minorities, living in a multigenerational homes, and are the communities of people in the highest percentage of infected.

That puts me at a higher risk than most. I have been avoiding seeing my mom.:(

Yeah, my test from Wed can back negative, but just found out the home wants a 14 day quarantine from the last Positive test, which will be next Friday.

We do have 24/7 assistance coming starting tonight to try to keep dad from hurting himself falling.

Well, they've taken down my tracking page and are redirecting to their main project page

Vaccinations are almost impossible to find here in S'Dale / Phoenix.

However..... I found this lil' Hispanic Family Clinic and sent them a text message on Wednesday.

They called me on Thursday and booked my mom's appointment for Friday.

Less than 48 hours from my text, and she had her Moderna shot (round one)

Viva La Moderna !!!

(BTW - we ain't Hispanic, we're hillbillies.)

Our 30 year old daughter and her husband got their first round. When I asked them how they were able to get it they said they knew the pharmacist who called them one afternoon to say they had 14 “extra” shots to give because of appointment cancellations from earlier that day and that the vaccine had to be used that day or discarded so they both rushed to the hospital to get their first round and are now automatically enrolled for the second round. My brother and his wife received their first round the same way this week from the same hospital. At least it’s not being wasted. Oh, and it was the Moderna vaccine.
