Winter Storm Watch Issued

Nothing is going to happen. Never had we had a storm actually hit us when the news had dedicated so much time too.

The blizzard of '93 was forecast and hit as predicted.

DDD has started a different thread on GON, in case anyone is interested.

Not the way I remembered it. I remember the day before they were saying 1 - 3 inches. The last report we got in Rockmart at 11:30 pm was 6 - 10 inches. We woke up the next morning with over 15 inches and by that afternoon, we were looking at 27 inches on the ground. I think they missed that one, at least for us.

I hope this new chart is more correct. If so then some of us will be in the "clear" area just west of the mess.

I am in the red area ...

seriously, I told my hubby to look for a job in a warmer climate and I was ok leaving the states to do so. My bones and joints can't handle this mess

I keep telling everyone that we are going to get nothing. I'm just am amateur as well but I can predict as well as the rest of them.

I don't think we're in the "clear" by any means. He just posted another map which says our area could get 2-5" of snow, and some ice. We probably won't be as hard hit as the eastern part of the state, but we're still getting something.

I'm with you there. I get a 50 / 50 chance, better than some weather people.

I don't have any expectation of being lucky enough to miss this mess, I'm sure we'll get hit. I'm just hoping we'll be fortunate enough to get a light amount.

Yes, me too! My greatest fear is the power going out, and the less ice we have the less likely that is to happen.

I'm a woman of mild opinion, and mild mannered, but y'all are starting to freak me out a little.

Make sure you have food, water, and something to keep you warm. This is gonna be a big 'un.

I'm pretty good on food and water. It's the not being able to make coffee that has me freaked out. I may just move in to the PD, like a vagrant, for a couple of days. I can make coffee, stay warm, keep my doggies with me and be surrounded by some handsome boys in blue. :love

That actually isn't a bad plan.
Marc came home and had already planned it for me. Packing a bag tonight so all I'll have to do is pick up the dogs. The fire dept is in the same bldg, so there are beds, a full kitchen, showers and everything. Yay! It'll be like a big ole slumber party!!!

A slumber party in heaven! :faint Police officers and firemen! :faint
