Hey Ocifer! I thought you said you didn't want to come back out here tonight?!?! :laugh

I was having tooooooo much fun earlier...and the party will go on until 4 AM. Our guys and Marietta PD have been SLAMMING Franklin and Delk Road, stopping everything that rolls, walks or crawls. That area has gotten so bad, we decided it was time to take it back for the good guys. It looks like a darn BLUE Christmas Nightmare out there :DN :laugh

Re: Slow going, but at least it\'s going

If that area didn't scare me so bad, I'd head on over. :laugh You know I love some men in uniform, right?

Well, there be a boat load of them there. The only reason I left is because there are a few more reports to approve and then head home. You'd be proud...I put 3 on the curb my own little self ;D

Dang, I miss all the fun!

We'd like to have had you with us. It was like flipping on the kitchen light and watching all the roaches run under the cabinets :laugh

Next time, call me. I would love to do a ride along! I do miss all the fun times!

Re: Slow going, but at least it\'s going

Yesterday I continued to wrap the wall board around and inside the workshop area and run another electircal outlet. The black wall is a portion of the poured wall. I decided not to build a wall out from it as I did the other walls to save space. At least it wasn't as humid yesterday, but it still wore me out. :'(

Really nice practice for when you redo my garage. :D

I should know what I'm doing by then :laugh

I have to put it on pause next week. I've been instructed to install another wall of judges paneling for Mrs. Reacher.

Re: Slow going, but at least it\'s going

I did a little painting today in the utility room I built for the fridge, furnace and water heater. These were all just sitting out in the open before, but closing them in will remove a distraction from the theme of the main garage when it's complete. It's a confederate gray. I'm no where near finished, but wanted to paint around the new light and re-hang the key box. MAN, this is taking a long time :'(

Yes, but you've come so far!!! Just in this thread, you've done all sorts of things! And you're that much closer to being finished. Well done!

It's been fun, really. Since I'm doing just a little at a time, I don't feel rushed and don't get so tired that I jack something up....too bad. ;D

I bought a couple of cans of appliance paint and am thinking about painting the fridge in the next week or so. I wonder if that stuff is any good? I'll let y'all know.

It is, go slow. If you do it right it will look awesome.

Re: Slow going, but at least it\'s going

Guard Dad saw me with a couple of wall boards in my truck yesterday that were put up in the DallasHwy Garage yesterday. It's still in slow motion, but I'm getting there. Just a couple more boards and I'll be ready for the hanging ceiling. I'll first have to build a frame around the top of the garage doors to allow them to disappear when opened. This is new ground to cover, so we'll see how it works out.

These pics are obviously of unfinished and unpainted walls. I grabbed a little "throw down" TV from the attic to keep me company while I worked yesterday. You'll note the cable and electrical outlets are up on the wall for a small flat screen later. Mrs. Reacher is still rolling her eyes about me hanging a TV down there. ::) ;D

I had to pull out the old exterior door and frame. It had an old pet door in it and I couldn't stand to look at it anymore. A few weeks ago I installed this new door that I had been looking at for a while. It has insulated glass with blinds in between.

....And here is the opposite side wall with the boarding complete. A few tubes of caulk, that covers a multitude of sins, a couple coats of paint, and it will look just right ;D

We have one of those doors w/ the blinds in it. We like it.

I got tired of not being able to see out that side of the house from the garage. It's worked good so far 8)

Re: Slow going, but at least it\'s going

That's really looking nice, Jack! And I like the TV idea. Anyhoo, how far down from your pipes, etc., will you hang the ceiling? And 'splain some more about the frame around the garage doors and how the ceiling will look when they're down/closed. Seriously...this is really coming along nicely!
