How much $$$ am I looking at for a speeding ticket on Bill Carruth today -- 64 in a 45 mph? Go ahead, slap me and give me the :p -- it's stupid on my part, and I sure don't need this!
 
I don't know the amount, but I do know Carruth is a crazy speed trap. All kinds of revenue enhancement going on there.
 
I have never drove that road without seeing cops! I go 5 under at all times. (I will catch up later :)) ) It is terrible there. My son is not allowed to drive it!
 
Let me pull an old bank statement... I blocked it out when I got the ticket for running a red light in Marietta...

It was $154.00, but the officer was gracious enough to write my speed down to 59 in a 45.

My dad & I were talking about speeding tickets this morning. Same thing...the car kind of got away with us & neither of us had a clue we were going as fast as we were.

Hope the fine isn't too much. Did the officer make you tote the whole thing, or did he drop it down for you?

Understandable, and really it is such a speed trap there. I did notice it was for under 20 so that is good.
 
Ok, so of course I have to point out the whole "speed trap" thing is not the proper terminology by technical definition. Speed traps are illegal and not at all what is going on there.

Okay. Speed traps are illegal and maybe not the correct terminology, but anyone that drives that road daily knows exactly what I mean. :dunno

Honestly, most cops I know just want folks to slow down. They'd much rather write a ticket, than work a wreck.
 
No, the officer did NOT write it down, he wrote it for 64 in a 45. Man do I dread finding out the total I will have to pay. He said to call in 15 days. Thanks, Lisa, for your info. So I know I will have to pay at least $154+. Geez.

Obviously all police officers would rather do that, but with that said, I have had 3 friends get tickets for under 10 miles an hour on that road and so many have been pulled over people post daily where they are sitting. I mean when you get FB posts each day because so many people are being pulled over and for such small amounts, it leads people to believe there might just be something to it. :dunno Don't get me wrong, if you are flying through there, pull them over! I literally ride my break on that road because it is very easy to coast up over the speed limit. Again, I have much respect for law enforcement, I would not put my life on the line for some of these people out there, but sometimes things are as they seem. JMO of course.
