Did he get a deal? I do not see it. I see where they would back him and have backed others. It is early, maybe I missed it.

My point is about his motivation .... money.

He'll get picked up by another team. From what I understand he's still fairly young ans is a great ball handler!!

If I heard correctly, he's 38 years old. That makes him almost wheel chair age for professional sports. Of course if a team doesn't pick him up his age will not be the reason the NBA is blamed...oh nooooo. It will be suggested it was because of his "issue".

Actually, he's 34 and is still considered a good center and would be a good pick up for a lot of teams.

Then time will tell I suppose. I don't keep up with basketball much because it's predudice against white folks, but I'm thinking a California team will sign him.

It really irritates the crap out of me when people say things like this. You do realize that there are more gays in the Atlanta area than there are in the SF area. Have you ever even been there?! It isn't like you go there and are instantly surrounded by gays.

As for his reasoning, he said that the bombings in Boston made him realize that tomorrow is not guaranteed and he didn't want to hide it anymore. I give him props for coming out. I'm sure it was tough.

That is a very good question Sadie. I'd like to know the answer to this as well. The media ridicules the "Jesus Lover" and embraces the old "Gay Guy". Why can't they all just be about the player's ability, not his color, his sexual orientation or his religious background.
