If I heard correctly, he's 38 years old. That makes him almost wheel chair age for professional sports. Of course if a team doesn't pick him up his age will not be the reason the NBA is blamed...oh nooooo. It will be suggested it was because of his "issue".

Actually, he's 34 and is still considered a good center and would be a good pick up for a lot of teams.

Then time will tell I suppose. I don't keep up with basketball much because it's predudice against white folks, but I'm thinking a California team will sign him.

What?

I said maybe a California team will sign him :dunno

Well why California and I was really what-ing the prejudiced against white folk. Why do you say that?

Oh, that. As my neighbor says, you need to be a little more pacific. :laugh

Well, on the California thing...the folks on the left coast are very "out-there" in their support of this fella's lifestyle. Well, unless California fell into the ocean while I wasn't looking

The other thing about predudice. It's obvious because of the numbers. Isn't that what other people base predudice on? I say affirmative action is called for. As my English firends from across the pond would say, "Here, Here"! :laugh
It really irritates the crap out of me when people say things like this. You do realize that there are more gays in the Atlanta area than there are in the SF area. Have you ever even been there?! It isn't like you go there and are instantly surrounded by gays.

I read GC's post as meaning SF is more friendly to gays than most places. I would tend to agree with such an opinion.

Maybe that's why he came out. :whistle
if so great play on his part

i hate these gay or straight talks... These are all people with feelings and should be treated as such

I think that discussing it is fine, many want that. I think many times lines are crossed with certain strong held beliefs and feelings get hurt by the people reading them. No one knows every persons situation and some wording that is used is strong and very hurtful. Even here we have members that have been hurt by ones that might not intentionally set out to hurt. That makes me feel bad and makes my argument for/against stronger than I might even feel. Someone has to stick up for those that might not want to voice their situation. :dunno

Thank you for that. I moved to GA from CA and have met way more gay people here. I personally don't care about anyone's sexuality but mine and my husband's. I do however get sick as hell of promiscuous (sp) heterosexuals arguing against gay marriage because it is a sin :waggingfinger

this reminds me of the show Necessary Roughness on USA

Love the show and it is filmed in GA

anyway the last few shows of last season was dealing with the 1st gay pro athlete ...

the season final was it getting out to the public finally

Did he get a deal? I do not see it. I see where they would back him and have backed others. It is early, maybe I missed it.

My point is about his motivation .... money.

I did not get that with ca ching and a link. I thought it was a see, here you go. Either way, does not matter to me. If the timing was to get a deal, good for him. He is not in line for a handout or food stamps. :))

He'll get picked up by another team. From what I understand he's still fairly young ans is a great ball handler!! :D

I could do this all day.
