Missing Plane

I just think it's interesting how the media talking points have changed completely within a week. Now everything is either about the missing plane or about the Ukraine. Looks like O will get another pass. Again, very convenient.

Yeah, I guess our entire foreign policy is in the hands of John Kerry. He's the one flapping his jaws and not saying anything. Is Barry on another vacation or something?

Yeah, last I heard he gave Poot-en until Monday. The conversation went something like this:

Kerry (in his constipated sounding voice) - You have until Monday...I mean it...or else...I'm not kidding...or else...I'll tell O-bomb-er. Don't make him get out his planes.

Poot-in (in his manly voice) - Tell him he can take his planes and go home.

Kerry - Well, well, ok...shucks (as he walks away kicking at the ground).

Four hours of flight is highly unlikely. The plane disappeared in an area with no ground radar, and the transponder was the only means of location when they went missing. Four hours of flight in any direction would have them pass well within range of defense and ATC radar. No such contacts were reported.

It is far more likely that the ACARS data download was delayed due to other factors or that it was simply an attempt by the satellite system to locate the engines to initiate data transmission as was the case with the early reports of cell phones ringing.

Whatever happened, it had to involve catastrophic depressurization, explosion, massive electrical failure, or crew intervention for the transponder and back-up to quit suddenly and simultaneously. It is unlikely that the aircraft could have been taken over without a Mayday or 7500 code given that there are always two or three crew members in the cockpit. Occam's Razor would point to some sort of sudden catastrophic failure.

Hey!
I said it a long time ago and with less words, "it has crashed in the jungle or water".

But you are right, LTD is smarter than the average bear.
He is also smarter than the average human.
(at least he sounds that way, for all I know he is just making stuff up cause I don't understand half of it, but the breeze is nice as it flies over my head)

The Malaysian Prime Minister just held a press conference where he stated that Flight 370 ended over the Indian Ocean. Apparently the latest debris field contains identifying information. Crews are on their way to see what date can be salvaged.

I'm glad they finally found it. Now to find out what happened...

At least the family now knows. :(

I agree. We may not know why, but we know. The father of one of the American passengers said last week that he still feels his son is alive. My heart breaks for the families.

We talked to my SIL last night. Her husband has just started traveling internationally for his job (until recently, he only traveled domestically.) The week prior to this tragedy, he took the same flight (not necessarily the same plane, but the same flight).

We just never know.

I'd like to know the "why" and "what happened". I'm praying they'll find some answers. If I had a loved one on that plane, just knowing it crashed wouldn't be enough for me. :(

i tend to go with an electrical failure of some kind or a electrical fire or a fire of some type that caused them to pull the breakers as was mentioned in the article I posted.
It makes the most sense.

It was high jacked by muslim terrorists.................I mean terrorists............didn't mean to be redundant......and they were going to fly it into something at some point. The other passengers tried to take back the plane and it crashed.

Actually, the PM is basing his carefully worded statement on the Inmarsat, the engine maintenance satellite that supposedly pinged until it didn't somewhere in the current search area. He DID NOT say that debris had been found.

"This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites," he said. "It is therefore, with deep sadness and regret, that I must inform you that, according to this new data, Flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean."

China and Australia have said in separate statements that additional debris has been imaged by their satellites that MIGHT BE from an aircraft. We have been through this before. It could still be a snipe hunt just like the previous reports, but lets hope not.

I wondered about that. I didn't hear the whole PC, but from his statements, it sounded as though it was definite, so I assumed the debris had evidence. :(

Not necessary. Please remember that many people have Muslims in their families that are not terrorists. Could your scenario be accurate, possibly, but the generalization is not needed.

Debris has been spotted by aircraft but NOTHING has been confirmed or even recovered by surface vessels.

I'm think the P/M wants people to stop looking for some reason.
