Missing Plane

I thought for sure going between my phone and laptop I missed it and if I did, delete this, but what the heck do you guys think has happen to the plane that was flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing? It is the weirdest thing ever and my heart just breaks for all those loved ones that have no idea what has happened and are holding on to any shred of hope. :'(

You tell us, I suspect your people.

You are so bad. :girlsaysno I am making a list. :tapfoot2

:laugh :laugh :laugh

At this point, it is as good a guess as any.
I suspect that we will not have an answer till they find the plane.
There are many things that could have happened, some caused by outside forces and some caused by equipment malfunction.
Then there is alien abduction.

That's got my vote, it's right in line with the stories told by that guy with the big hair on Ancient Aliens. I'm watching Jaws right now and just finished watching Jaws 2, let's not rule out that possibility either.

I say it was an elaborate hijacking that involves the local military and officials. Their story and info keeps changing.

If it had crashed there would be wreckage or a fire/smoke if on land.

It is so crazy! It is just one of those things that bother you (me) and you think about it a lot. :( People just want to know what happened to their families and friends.

I thought about my reply, and realized how it might sound. I'm not saying your IDEA is crazy....I actually agree that something out of our normal realm - more like what you suggested - is likely.

I think this SITUATION is one of the craziest I've heard!

Hubby and I were talking about this last night. We think someone (more than one possibly) hijacked the plane and were able to somehow turn off the black box. They could have flown the plane under radar. We think they flew it to another location (country maybe) and are holding the passengers hostage, but have not came forward to make demands just yet. We do think it is terrorist related.

I do find it quite strange Malaysia is not being forth coming with the information they have. I saw an interview on Fox with some high honcho Malaysian guy who did not want to even give a description of the two who stole the passports. The reporter pressed him and was only able to get a vague description of one of the guys.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the people on board. It is a very strange situation.

On a lighter note:

Where is David Copperfield? Did he do his airplane trick again?

I predict that the plane is in the water, somewhere.
Sadly the people on board have passed on.
This is not the 1st plane that has gone missing like this, it is however the 1st one since the 60's.
(I think it was the 60's)

Have you heard the information about the phones? Several companies have claimed that cell phones of those on board have continued to "ping" even up until yesterday. They wouldn't do that if the plane had exploded or gone into the sea. :dunno

Weird, I tell ya!

I revise my prediction, it is in the jungle.

The phones may not be working, or they may be working.
They are not sure.

Because it is long distance;
"The ringing is not actually ringing at the other phone yet," industry analyst Jeff Kagan said. "It's just telling you that the network is in the process of finding and connecting to it."

The whole thing is weird. Maybe they are on an island somewhere like that show Lost, I think it was called?

The whole thing smacks of something sinister. Eliminating the passengers is easy enough, at the altitude they were flying. All a hijacker would have to do is pull the breakers for the oxygen masks and open a port. They'd be dead within a minute at 30,000 feet. If the transponders were shut off then after about 100 miles over water they would basically be invisible. (I'm no expert but I have picked the brain of a friend who was in the military, and now works on aviation electronics for airlines and the government)

I'd like to know who was on that plane, more than what happened to it at this point. That could definitely answer some of the how/what/where questions.

I haven't read extensively on this yet. Has China responded? (Just curious)

Of course, I could just be cooking up my own conspiracy theories.

I've read that the Malaysian government is turning over the radar data to the FAA for review to determine if the readings were accurate.

If the phones are still working and can be "pinged" then they can lock a location for that phone. That's old technology that even they should have.

As for the radar, civilian radar does have a minimum elevation it will track aircraft, direct line of site from the radar site. But military tech can almost follow the curvature of the earth and even pick up waves in the ocean. It takes a very skilled pilot who is also familiar with the radar site locations and how they work to avoid radar tracking.

I would be very interested with who is on that plane or what's in the cargo hold.

If the plane had crashed in the ocean, there would be fuel sheen on the water and a lot of debris floating. Even if they had managed to land on the ocean without crashing, the fuel cells would crush and rupture as it sank.

My new thoughts on this is that the military changed their story of direction after the hijackers had time to land and then hid the plane in some small island airstrip somewhere. I would be highly surprised if the passengers are still alive.

There be's a lot of lying going on here!
