Preview of Trump's Tax Plan

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said in an interview that aired on Sunday on the eve of the unveiling of his tax plan that a "large segment" of U.S. taxpayers would have a zero rate if he wins the White House.
Trump's campaign has scheduled a news conference for 11 a.m. (1500 GMT) on Monday in New York to announce a tax policy it said would offer "a major tax reduction for almost all citizens and corporations, in particular, those in the middle and lower income classes."
Pressed about the specific numbers during an interview on CBS' "60 Minutes" on Sunday, Trump said: "I will say this, there will be a large segment of our country that will have a zero rate, a zero rate. And that's something I haven't told anybody."

He's releasing his full plan tomorrow.
A large percentage of the working population already has a zero rate when you consider they get a 100% refund of what was deducted for federal income tax. Some get back more than that.
Right now 47% of all families pay zero or make money on the federal income tax. He doesn't seem aware of that fact.
47% ??

Almost half and I have never been on that side of the refund fence.
Pay zero or make money? 47%? Are we sure about that? (Telling husband we need a new CPA)

Those are 2009 numbers, but yes, I'm sure. You can Google to your heart's content. While there are liberal sites pointing out that everyone who works pays payroll taxes, they cannot dispute that number who pay no income tax, which comes directly from the IRS.

Interesting. If we take the top two of each, I actually think people have it right.

Trump is a jerk and arrogant.
Fiorina does seem smart, yet at times dishonest. (Might be correct, might not be, but it is the appearance.)

Mark these words... if Trump was smart he would embrace Carson into the fold.

Two non establishment birds... of very different and controversial feathers.

From a pure strategy standpoint, this would be a genius move.

Thank you. As I keep saying...I'm not voting for a BFF or pastor...I'm voting for someone with the cajones and street smarts to pull this country back from the brink, if that can even be done. I'll worry about nit-picky conservative bona fides when we're on more stable footing.

I agree. I think though that those words were used to describe his personality, not as a reflection of his intelligence.

He may have an arseclown personality but the man is successful, and by successful I mean he has far more successes than failures. Anyone who argues against that statement is either not being objective or is misguided. It's hard to claim success without first attempting to accomplish something other than finishing reading a textbook. Give me a man (or woman) who has succeeded in life over a person with only honorary accolades any day.
