That's 70 jobs in a county of 144,000. Just some perspective.

Gotta learn to crawl before you can walk. Gotta learn to walk before you can run! It's a step in the right direction.

Remember, we've had 40 years of refusing commercial development, it's not going to improve overnight, especially in this economy. But it is starting....one step at a time!

Exactly - I'm excited to see development in our county (although I think the airport had very little to do with it in this situation).

With this being an international company, I would imagine the airport did have something to do with it. I bet they have their own aircraft.

But given our close proximity to Atlanta and Charlie Brown Airport, I just don't think the airport was a genuine factor - not in this situation since they already have a small office here in Paulding.

I think it is a genuine factor because of the distances of the airports you mentioned to the plant compared to the much shorter distance to our airport when flying a company aircraft to visit one of the company sites. I would wager they took our having an airport into consideration.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one....

Talking to some folks here in Wilmington about the Interroll location here, it was built about ten years ago and employs about 150. After they got the operations going, a couple of their suppliers opened shop intown to create about 80 more jobs. My understanding is the location here and the one in Hiram will compliment each other. I hope this is a beginning for PC to get some industry built and operating there

The spray fields no longer spay waste water or "brown water" as they call it. That was stopped several years ago when the new sewage plant (or major expansion) went on-line. There are 4 sections, basicly divided by the road and the railroad. The first section (where this company is going) is 350 acres in the North West corner. And will be the first of several "class-A" office/industrial buildings. Paulding has never had a "class-A" building. And the County

If you want to see more about what's happening in Paulding: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Paulding-County-Economic-Development/220693194624838

And if you don't think the airport is not having an effect, call Enterprise Car Rental and ask them how many customers that pick up at the Paulding Airport. Not to mention the private limo companies.

Why does it still smell?

We have a small three acre lot about a mile from the airport. I always said it would be a great location for a car rental, limo, taxi business.

My Mother has seven acres and her house on Hulseytown. Plenty of area to build on and plenty of parking for big trucks.

Bill Carruth still stinks and I still don't think the airport was a determining factor IN THIS SITUATION.

What? I can assure you that I have NEVER thought of Paulette as a sex object.

Not you, LisaC or anyone here.

if it didn't happen here, then may I suggest you not discuss it here?

This one is cute about Enterprise.

Surepip Hatchery Equipment received a very nice contract in 1997/1998 to deliver over 100 hatching egg sanitizers to Hubbard Breeders in Statesville, NC; and Pikeville, Tn. We basically worked it out to deliver 2, every other week to both locations over a 2 year period of time.
At that time we had an old F-150, getting worse the wear so we would rent a Pickup from Enterprise at Thornton Road.

The Hot-Dog joint had just opened in Hiram where the Enterprise is now located. I had to have Enterprise come to the New Hope/Dallas Industrial park to pick up my driver, to then ride to Thorton Road, get the truck and come back. Load up, and take off for NC or Tn. Then when they got back, we had to do the whole thing in reverse, costing me a good worker $10-$15 an hour back then, almost 2 hours per trip, or 4 hours per machine deliver. Not chump change.

I mentioned to the guys at Enterprise Thornton Road that this Hot Dog joint had opened on a 1-2 acre piece a land a "friend" had been the agent on, and that I felt it was doomed and would be available soon.
I forget the manager of the Thornton Road Enterprise's name, but I knew he lived in Paulding. I got him the contact info for the agent [Naturegirl, you know the agent involved] and they arranged for Enterprise to open that facility a couple of months later. I think JK is still picking up renters now, as he was then, almost 15 years ago.

This was sooooo much more convienent for us, and for me renting for my trips to Arkansas, Texas, etc.
