Just for the record, I cannot be a (racist, homophobic, misogynist), because my best friend is (black, gay, female).

Please insert the correct words for whatever anyone thinks I may be.

Disclaimer: The poster reserves the right change best friends at any time in order to show that he is not whatever he is being called at that time.

You make me laugh. :))

I agree with this, but we cannot leave out the fact that while there is a "them," there is also an "us." You know, us white people who think that as long as we have one black friend we can tell people about they won't think we're racist; us white people who think that it's okay to use the "n" word as long as black folks don't hear us; us white people who think that as long as we can validate our views by saying that it is the disintegration of the African American famly that we can sit back and do nothing...

No, I'm not an "us". I don't have time. And, I truly do not normally spend my days examining race relations. Because guess what, they are fine at my house. If issues come up with my kids, they are addressed immediately. And, you think YOU got offended? Guess what! So am I. I don't use the "N" word. I don't segregate my friends (well, except the drinking/non-drinking ones because that can get ugly). And yes, I DO believe there is a huge disintegration of the black families (and the white ones) which you may have noticed I've said MANY times, because when I'M talking about the breakdown of the American family, I'm talking about ALL of us, every AMERICAN. I don't have to wear my black (or other) family members on my sleeves to prove to you I'm not prejudice.

I only skimmed through this but it appears to me that a lot of y'all are borderline racists and that my wife and daughters are whores for shopping at Macy's. Interesting group ya got here. And to the person that feels segregated and scared at work and in public, SunGoddess I believe was her name, where in Gods name do you work/live? I work for black folks and I'm usually in areas that are heavily populated with colored folks and have never felt segregated or fearful for my life. Also, how can you what color they are through those tiny holes in your pointy hood? I mean seriously, I'm racist as hell but I haven't felt fear due to being around blacks. In my opinion, and that is all this comment is, an opinion, if you feel you are being segregated at work, you need to go to HR asap. Let them figure it out. Also, when I go out looking for sluts, I prefer JC Penny. Top notch ho bags in that place baby!!!!

That being the case, I imagine you feel right at home on The Hwy :laugh

look at you...2 funnies in 1 day in 2 different threads...hahaha

I've been working on my comedy writing.

Since it appears that my earlier posts have been deleted (I'm sure a mod somewhere is still working on the PM to explain why). Let me simply say this: I come from a very diverse family and I find your thoughts about two races not being able to live and work together as wrong and divisive. And, quite frankly, your comments ticked me off. Does that mean you don't have the right to post them? No, it doesn't mean that at all, and I encourage you to continue to post. But, in posting your beliefs, know that you are inviting folks to give you their opinion of your comments which is exactly what I did - why those posts were deleted is something only the mods know since, again, I didn't get an explanation via PM - something they always encourage me to do.

I'm praying for you sister, as long as folks like you believe this way, we will always have racism and that is just sad.

Thank you for the prayers; I need them just like we all do and always will, and you will be in my prayers also. I AM frustrated. Just seeing and hearing the masses of blacks during this Zimmerman inicident, I feel the whites no longer have the right to a fair trial. A jury found this man innocent, and the hate the blacks are demonstrating show that YES, we WILL always have racism. Blacks kill blacks daily and they won't even help the police (as seen on TV :)) ). After the killing of the Villa Rica jeweler, I have been reduced to carrying a gun now. God bless us all. My prayers have been that God end this world now before there is a race war or even worse. We are in dire need of guidance from above -- Satan is alive and well on planet earth.
I am glad this thread has some love and fun poked and hope it continues on. Thanks to my family and friends, I have loved and am loved, and will continue to be strong. Thanks all. Don't worry; be happy and try to be positive. I have had a hard time lately, but things are looking up and things WILL balance out! :love :love

And this is why I love you.

And I never said you did... My point is and has been is that this isn't just an issue that black people have to correct. It's something we all have to work on if we really want to solve the problem.

I think the Asians should have to correct it. After stealing the VCR from us, they owe us one.

Actually, she said that blacks and whites should be "apart" and that it is very obvious that blacks and whites "cannot live together." Let me post the whole quote for you:

It is very obvious that black and white cannot live together; blacks hate
whites and yell race for everything! Just seeing the hate in their eyes and
actions during the rallies scares me. They fear their own and have bars on
their doors and windows in their living areas and move to white areas to be safe
but yet protect those same black thugs. None of us are safe now. We have
nothing in common; we don't socialize together - even at work we are in our own
groups. TOO late now, but we should have never been thrown together. We ALL
deserve equal rights, but apart!
Blacks will make the whites pay forever. I
want to leave in peace again and feel safe, but where? I get really stressed
with all this hate and just wish we could all live together, but that will never
happen.

So, excuse me if I find this offensive, but when someone believes that the races should be "apart" and "cannot live together," that, in my opinion, is racism. Apparently, that doesn't bother most folks here, but it does bother me.

Please don't confuse lack of a response with others agreeing with what someone may post in a thread. I find many things posted here disturbing but don't feel a response is necessary or appropriate when someone is expressing their opinion on a topic. This thread is a perfect example of why America cannot hold honest and open discussions on race relations. If we can't even hold one here on the Highway without highly offending each other then how in the world can America as a whole have one without even more outrage. Add in the political agenda of various groups and it adds even more fuel to the fire.

J - I do apologize to you. This isn't directed at anyone who did not respond, but merely to those that did. I am completely open to having a discussion about race relations in this country, but it becomes difficult when comments that should be considered unacceptable are dismissed and, in some cases, defended. If we don't do something to correct that thought process, we are always going to have issues.
