Who sports the best "meat"?

Blazing Saddles

Pursuit Driver
We were sitting at the dinner table yesterday eating some ham and biscuits and I brought this topic up. Who has the best tasting meat to offer? The pig? The cow? The chicken? or The Fish?

The Pig can offer several different tasting meats that are packed with flavor.
The Cow can rival the pig pretty good but I feel the pig still has the widest variety.
The Chicken has only two types, white or dark, and they both have a distinctive taste.
The Fish brings to the table, well, the fish. It tastes the same from head to toe.

What do you all think?

For me, it is clearly the pig and my favorite "meat" of choice. I like a great steak but overall, the pig reels me in.

I love me some beef, but I don't eat that much of it these days. Pork tenderloin is mighty tasty!

I eat loads of chicken and turkey; diet fare and all.

We don't eat pork anymore so that ones out of contention for me. My true preference is a toss up between deer and buffalo but off the list you provided ... moo baby, moo.

Gotta go with UM on the bison...YOWSA! But from the list, I agree - beef. I grew up on a farm and we raised our own beef...I was in college before I had a steak in a restaurant, and I'm thinkin' what the heck? Why does this taste so bad? There is NOTHING like homegrown beef. :wistfulsigh:

It tastes similar to pig fins.

Bison and pork tops.

Fish, chicken, turkey second.

Not much into red meat, I'll eat it but not too much.

Salmon especially.

I had fresh salmon when I was in Alaska, and it ruined me forever. GAH!!! That was so good.

PS - You do know that we Southerners pronounce the "l" in salmon, don't you? :D

You think we're weird...the Brits are a thousand times worse. They say aluminum as "aluMINium" and specialty as "speciALity". And don't even get me started on words like Thames, Edinburgh, and many that was much worse! I swear, it's like listening to a different language!

I like eating most animals. Last night, tonight (and finishing the leftovers tomorrow night) I had salmon Encrute. Pretty good, even if I had to make it myself.
