The unhealthy or elderly are more likely to need hospitalization...

Over 80% are these patients obese...

;)

Well the stats being reported now are showing that 92% of ventilated patients in the Wellstart system in Ga are unvaccinated.

They don't break that down any more than that, so can't say how many of that 92% also had other health concerns.

However, the GA site does show that all age groups 18 and older have had their share of hospitalization.

Our church has a 21 year old we are praying for at 7:00 tonight who is in the hospital, on a ventilator with Covid.

Delta is hitting all ages.

I don't think there are any doubt that the vaccine has, at least up to now, helped to prevent the more serious cases.

Having said...there are claims circulating that a recent spike in Isreal is showing just the opposite. I haven't posted it because I don't think it's to the level of being solid news at least yet, but the claims are that the vaccine wears off after a few months and actually leaves the person more susceptible to covid, and that the majority of people there hospitalized with COVID are vaccinated. Israel is the most vaccinated country in the world and they got vaccinated quickly after it was released. I do know for fact that Israel is having a fairly major surge in cases, but the other part above remains unconfirmed.

Oooops

Right after making the post above, I see this:

Now this. It's no wonder people have doubts!

The new iPhone will have an added feature that will allow it to be powered-up only via one's fingerprint on the touchscreen.

The fingerprint will be linked to a national vaccine register & only those with current vaccinations will be able to operate the new iPhone.

If you're not vaccinated, the new iPhone will not be operational.

Of course, I just made this up. However, the point is, did you believe this for any length of time?
Does the idea seem that far-fetched in our current political climate?

It's entirely feasible.

Should someone be interested in obtaining a vaccine passport from where could one be obtained, how much would one cost, and is Bitcoin an acceptable form of payment. Asking for several friends.

(I’m kidding but in reality that’s exactly where such a mandate would lead)

And yet they use up health care resources just the same...

;)

And yet, they don't put hospital workers at greater risk. And again, when is the last time pre-COVID that there were multiple hospitals ICUs filling up and denying additional patients or putting off surgeries?

;)

That's true.

One reason for long waits in pediatricians' offices are the mothers who bring their child in to see the doctor for runny noses. Most little kids play on the floor in the house. Carpet is full of dust mites that will make kids noses run; no matter how well you vacuum it once a week.

Hospitals are no different than any other business. Most are severely understaffed and not only because of being overburdened from treating Covid patients but also because people are being given free money to sit home on their arse. Many are leaving the profession because of mask mandates.

Now answer these questions. Is Covid the only health risk facing health care providers? Do health care providers choose that profession? If I call Paulding Hospital and ask if there's an available bed for an elective surgery will they tell me no, they're closed due to unvaxxed Covid patients? Sure, there are pockets where health care is scarce, I'll give on that but that also applied prior to Covid.

I can go on and on just as anyone else can on the other side of the aisle. When the mandate becomes strictly enforced then people will have to reconsider their stance. Not far afterwards people will have to reconsider their stance on the next mandate, then the next, and the next. But hey, we'll all be safe from Covid by then.

That's a good point...the mandates are likely going to make the hospital situation worse because of medical personnel leaving their jobs. I personally know two highly educated nurses who have already turned in their notices because of the mandates from their employers.

They would be staying if they didn't have to wear masks?

We know of at least two ourselves.
