We sprinkle with parm and put it on the grill. I didn't think of saute and broiler. Good idea. (though I saute in olive oil, not butter.)unionmom said:I usually do asparagus like this:ShoeDiva said:I love asparagus like that too!
lightly saute in butter then light sprinkling of parmesan cheese and under the broiler for a minute or 2

Here's what I can't seem to throw out...Folgers coffee plastic containers. For some strange reason, I feel compelled to wash those and keep them in a cabinet. I guess I'll find a use for them one day. (A bit off topic, I know)
switch to Kcups lol
what did you do with the grease when you saved it?
ShoeDiva said:Or you can go with steamed and actual green bean flavor that taste great and then a vegetable is not going to clog your arteries. Just saying. )Grey Colson said:ShoeDiva said:I thought when I heard of people cooking things like green beans with bacon grease :sick they fried up some bacon and used the grease. I had no idea they used old grease.
It flavors green beans and makes them taste like they were cooked in HEAVEN! We save it for beans, cabbage and to cook with eggs. MMMMMMMmmmmmmm! N

I used it to season green beans, cornbread and fry stuff in. I don't fry anything anymore though. Now I use a little drop of olive oil & chicken broth in my green beans...and I just use olive oil in the pan for cornbread. One day all those coffee containers will come in handy, just don't know what for yet. LOL
