I think it's safe to say this person was just a little upset over the battery cost for his Telsa:
Finnish Man Blows Up His Tesla to Protest $22,600 Repair Cost
A Finnish Tesla owner received a repair bill totaling almost half of what he initially paid for the car. His response? Have YouTubers blow up the car with 66 pounds of dynamite and post the video rather than pay the hefty bill.trib.al
Wow, that was impressive and didn't paint a good picture of Telsa.
I'd guess much less than $22k but what do I know, I've never owned either.Just curious.....the 2013 Tesla Model S cost around $60K brand new in 2013. Let's say you bought a $60K Mercedes in 2013 instead and the engine blew up. How much would Mercedes charge to replace the engine? I bet it wouldn't be that much less than $22K.
However, the big problem with Teslas like this is there are very few options to get repairs outside of going to Tesla directly. Another YouTuber had a similar problem and got his batteries replaced by yet another YouTuber for around $5K.
Is there such a thing as a $60,000 Mercedes?
Smart Car?Yep, the cheapest one can be had for around $35K.
Smart Car?
Ha! More like 4 hours. Even with a level II charger (220V/40A) a full charge is 8 to 12 hours.

Back in October, Rivian quietly revealed that it produced just two R1T electric trucks per day. The automaker has slowly ramped up manufacturing, but it’s still far from reaching a practical production volume, and pre-orders are mounting faster than they can be fulfilled. Unsurprisingly, the...www.reviewgeek.com
They managed to be first in production and their truck has gotten rave reviews. And now they are swamped!Sounds like it needs to partner with one of the big boys (Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, GM,) or bring in some more deep pocket investors.
Butt according to the commercials it can also power your house in the event of a blackout.I'm sorry, who in the hell wants an electric pickup truck anyway other than to brag to their friends and neighbors that they have one?
Get off my lawn...
If you say so...Butt according to the commercials it can also power your house in the event of a blackout.
I mean you’ll have lights a whole three to four hours longer than your neighbor. I think there’s a trophy for that.
That's what they were advertising in the commercials aired during bowl games this weekend. Every time I saw it I just rolled my eyes (I know, imagine that). I'd love to see it hooked up and running the household. I bet it wouldn't last 3 hours and then what? A dead truck battery and a dark house...that's what.If you say so...
