I don't recall seeing you answer a question I asked earlier in this topic GD. Do you oppose the law that says children are required to receive vaccines in order to attend public schools and day care?
Vaccine mandates to attend public school are on the state level and there are exemptions for some reasons. The vaccines used have been around for many years and are well tested. And, there are other school choices. Frankly, I'm still not crazy about them because I saw how sick one vaccination made my oldest granddaughter, but they might be for the greater good, as cold as that phrase sounds.
The federal government doesn't have this kind of authority over the states, especially when it's by executive order. The government is totally ignoring natural immunity, and they are taking these unprecedented steps at a time when the rate of COVID transmission is way down. So none of it makes sense if you think this is really about COVID.
This is about two things...money and also to try and change the narrative away from Afghanistan.
Back on doing this by executive order...surely you can see the danger in one man being able to force Americans to take an injection or "medication". While this vaccine is probably OK, this mandate is coming from the same man who is pushing booster shots when top officials at the FDA say it isn't needed in most cases. Dumb ole Joe probably doesn't intend any harm from this, but what if we had a president who did want to inject something into American's bodies that weakened us, made us dumber, turned men into Millies, etc. OK, that's a stretch, but not beyond the realm of possible. I'm just trying to make a point of what allowing one man (or woman) to have this much power could do. What if we did have a president who is actually a foreign agent who's job is to defeat us quietly? That's not as crazy as it might sound. I'm not so sure it hasn't already happened.
Don't try to say there are protections against this happening, because the FDA and CDC can be quite political when there's money on the line. The CDC is little more than a political arm now.
At last count, I think either 11 or 13 states so far plan to sue the Biden administration over this, and I hope they win. This is much larger than just a shot, it's about freedom and state's rights. Nibbling away at our Constitutional rights over a health crises is still nibbling away at our Constitutional rights. If they get away with this one, it will only open the door to more.
Lastly...if the government really wanted to get more people vaccinated, they would try to better educate people instead of passing mandates, threatening fines and sending goons door to door. The latter just polarizes people and solidifies the resistance to it. What the government needs to do is stop moving the goalposts and start telling the whole truth. And they need to publish information to dispel incorrect statements about the vaccine. People are not stupid, they see that the government is not telling the whole truth and it seems pretty clear that there are ulterior motives for pushing the vaccine. One red flag in particular is that they no longer recognize natural immunity. I'm told that in Europe where having to "show your papers" is more common, having natural immunity is accepted as an alternative to being vaccinated. Nut no, not here. Perhaps worst of all, the government is intentionally using the vaccine to further divide us. A lot of people see this, and it also causes push back. I, for one, don't trust anything that comes from this administration.
