Zimmerman trial has now begun

The fact that this woman was the "star" witness for the prosecution speaks volumes about the strength of their case.

HLN is replaying the cross ... this woman is an absolute nightmare "star" witness. She's a nightmare anything witness. She is admitting to lying at pretty much every turn.

Yep. Unbelievable that their case relies so much on what she has to say.

I was looking for HLN on our satellite and guess what......that horrendous Nancy Grace was on. I swear that woman is disgusting. I would separate both halves of my brain with a .45 if I had to be around her for any length of time.

Particularly since it relies so heavily on what she said during an interview that she now admits that she did not want to do, did not take seriously, and did lie in at times.

I just watched some of it. :confused

The case that brought Nancy Grace to national attention was the murder trial of Weldon Wayne Carr.
He was accused of murdering his wife and setting the house on fire to cover it up.
He was found guilty of this murder, but later was set free on technicalities.
One of the biggest things that helped Nancy Grace convict Wayne Carr, was the fact that he had brought his clothes, including the suit he wore to the funeral, to the dry cleaners.
Not only had he never brought or picked up clothes from the dry cleaners before, that is where his clothes were when the house, including the rest of his clothes, burned down.
On the Neal Boortz show, which I heard myself, Nancy Grace said that she had searched all the dry cleaners in the Atlanta area looking to see if Carr had brought clothes in.

This is a bald faced LIE.

How, may you ask, can I say this with such authority?
Well, I will tell you.
My mother worked (and still does) at that dry cleaners.
One Sunday afternoon she mentioned that this guy who was accused of killing his wife had brought in a bunch of his clothes, right before the house burned down.
She said that in all the years that the Carrs had been doing business at that cleaners, she had never seen Mr. Carr.
That his wife was ALWAYS the one who came to the cleaners.
She also said that it was also the 1st time that only Mr. Carr had clothes for cleaning, not any of his wife's clothes.
My mother asked me if I thought she should tell the DA about this.
I advised my mother to tell the owner of the cleaners about this and let him go to the DA.
That is what happened and Nancy Grace had no idea about the clothes or the fact the Mr. Carr had never been to the cleaners before it was brought to her attention by my mother and the owner of the dry cleaner.

Ever since then I have had very little respect for MS Grace.

Now I'm going to have to find that testimony.

Are meaning the one with the dry cleaner owner?
My mother has it on video tape.

Oh...wait...you don't have a VCR.

Oh, just rub it in! :)) I actually have a nice Blu-ray/DVD player beside the TV that we've never hooked up. :laugh

I found "Dr. Drew" on HLN. The "experts" have a much different view of her than y'all do.

"They were too hard on her."
"She's just a high school kid. This was too much for her."
She was the last one to talk to Trayvon. The jurors will empathize with her because she was honest. I like her, I felt her emotion. She was just a kid when this happened. She didn't attend the funeral because it was too much. She's naïve and innocent. And she had to face her friend's killer for the first time. She's just a kid.

She's just being a "typical" defiant teen. (I'm still waiting on them to stop gushing over this girl talking and play the testimony so I can make up my own mind. They simply have video of her wiping her tearful eyes on a video loop.)

"She has clearly shown that Zimmerman was the aggressor."
"We knew race would be important in this case."
Some groups can't experience this young woman. You can't understand her perspective. Those white men have no idea what this young woman's life is like.

And there are as many "experts" out there saying that she was not good. HLN kept showing her making faces at the defense attorney and getting snarky with him. Funny, one "expert" was saying that the defense messed up by not keeping her to strictly yes/no answers and another said that it was beautiful that they didn't ... her longer answers did more damage to the prosecution and gave her a chance to further impeach herself.

I'll tell you what, if I hear, "she's just 19" one more time I may need a new tv. How many soldiers have died at age 19 (or younger) fighting to protect our freedoms? And I'm supposed to feel sorry for her rude, lying, disrespectful sorry self because of her age? Not gonna happen. If she doesn't get how serious the situation is/was by age 19 she's got bigger issues and making excuses for her isn't helping anyone.

I watched a little commentary with "experts" on Fox last night and they were saying the same.

I am glad you have watched other experts, because it is worrisome that people are making all these excuses for a 19 year old. Yes she is still a kid, but hello, she is 19. If my child were lying, disrespectful, and not understanding the seriousness he would have more problems then the prosecutor. :girlsaysno

One of the things that was mentioned last night that I think is a big point here with her ... we have Zimmerman's video re-enactment telling his side of the events of that night. She is the closest we have to that from Martin's side of things. If the message gets through, it's big. But if her message is not heard, it's huge.

Another thing to keep in mind ... it is 6 women judging her. No clue of their race or socio-economic background. This could be a benefit or a huge hurdle for the prosecution. Women are harsh when judging other women.

I hate to be argumentative but ... no, she is not still a child. She's 19 for crying out loud. I'll give you "young adult" and certainly still has a long way to go but outside of the technical "she's somebody's child", she is not a child. She is an adult in every state of this nation.

That is the whole reason for this trial. Who attacked. If my case relied on her, lets just say I would not have taken it to court. Though again, this should not have gone to trial, and would not have if others had not become involved. That is where I am concerned. Those that wanted this trial, want him behind bars. Does it matter what anyone says? :dunno
