We've all heard the 911 tape where the RO told him not to follow Trayvon....

Two problems I have with that statement ...

1.) He never said don't follow him. He said, "We don't need you to do that." Big difference.
2.) Unless FL is different, a 911 call taker has no authority over a citizen so it doesn't matter what he may or may not have told him anyway.

We've been watching this for a couple of hours. VERY interesting cross examination of a "witness".

And social media has come into play. This witness says she has sympathy for both sides in the case, but she only "liked" the Justice for Trayvon page - not the one in support of GZ. Her reasoning? The opportunity never came up. :

Another thing: after what I've seen today, I'm leaning more and more toward acquittal.

The first witness was a Crime Scene Investigator. She took the photos of GZ after the altercation.

If that man was an overzealous vigilante who wanted to shoot his gun, he wouldn't have the bruises, bumps, cuts, and scrapes that he does. He took quite a beating to be someone who wanted to "shoot a kid."

It's crazy. Part of me wants to follow it so that I can be fully informed so as to refute the BS when it is thrown around, make up my own mind based on the true facts of the case, etc. And then part of me wants to turn off the TV and ignore all of the links online and just wait for it all to go away.

The racial component should not be the issue, but it is. It's the driving issue in this case. If the same incident inculded two blacks or two whites or the situation reversed, none of us would have ever heard about it. It would have remained local and, with the information the police say they have, no one would have been arrested.

That being said, it would have been wise for Zimmerman to call the police and WAIT in this case instead of confronting the thug on his own. Now if he was actively assaulting another person or seen crawling through a window...then yes. If the situation is not HOT....WAIT FOR BACK-UP!

But does not waiting for back-up make what he did a crime? No

They just recessed for the day.

The witness told the defense attorney that she wasn't going to be there tomorrow. He asked her if she refused to come to court. The judge broke in and said she would make scheduling decisions.

Defense asked a couple of more questions, and then said he would need the witness tomorrow. She yelled out, "WUT?!?!"

It IS funny, but I'm seriously perturbed that the judge has allowed her antics in a court of law. It makes a mockery of the system. (Funny for us, but a mockery none the less.)
