I made Avocado and Mango salsa for our weekly Mah Jongg group today. Figured I'd try it on them first, plus it's Mango season so very cheap as well. OHHH MMMM GEEEE, it was GREAT! I then grilled chicken and added the leftover salsa on top with some cilantro and green onion for garnish for dinner. To friggin' die for!!!! And so easy.

Is it one of each of those?? Or do you order ahead of time? Or is it a farmer that sets up with all that and you go pick what you want and it's I dividuay priced? Can anyone go? Or does your kid have to be a student?

And where is Dugan? LOL

:ditto

(Except I know where Dugan is. Haha!

It is a guy that goes to the farmers market. You pick out what you want when you get there. It is just twenty dollars and you take what you want! (except for packaged items he ask you take one. So today I took one package of blackberries) I took two bags (plastic grocery type bags he provides) this week because son is home everyday. :)) Anyone can go. Dugan is off Ridge Rd.

What I got today for $20:
1 pkg Blackberries
1ib of grapes
2 Onions
10 yellow squash
5 tomatoes
3 cucumbers (they are huge)
2 stalks of Romain Lettuce
2 stalk of broccoli
2 mangoes
3 plantains
1 lb of green beans
3 poblano peppers
2 red peppers
1 green pepper
2 Japanese eggplants
3 Macintosh apples

I still don't understand. :faint

You give him $20 and you take what you want, except the packaged stuff. You only get one packaged thing. Wut?

What are his hours, and where on Ridge? It's is long. :))

GET OUT OF THE CLOSET. :))

There are bins of items. You take what you want out of the bins. I wanted two onions, I went to the onion bin and took two. I wanted some tomatoes, I went to the tomato bin and took five. The ONLY exception for taking more than one is if they come packaged. The blackberries were packages in the plastic container you see at the store. I only took one container because it was a packaged item.

:)) I am glad you understand I was going to resort to drawing pictures. :laugh :laugh :laugh

He is there from 11:30 to 1:00. Get there at the beginning for the best variety. He does this at some Douglas county schools too; Douglas County Hill, Chapel Hill Middle, and South Douglas Elm. I am not sure of the days and times and I do not think they would be more convenient for you. :))

I know that my son has some people (I am not sure of all of them yet) booked for Earth Day in Dallas that run markets and will have some stuff there (in April) and you might be able to find out about some things in the area that are closer to you. I think he mentioned some things for kids to do too. I will ask and let you know. It could be a fun day for Baby B.

Ill be there at 11:30! I really wish Dallas had a decent farmers market on the square. I can't wait until the Marietta Farmer's Market is in full swing next month!

It would be nice, but I guess with the school there now it would not be feasible.

Vegetable beef stew has been in the crock pot all day :

Beef with potato, tomatoes, carrots, onions, celery, fresh corn,
greeny beans, and peas in a rich yummy beefy red wine sauce.

And fresh corn muffins with honey... this is gonna be so good.
