I have an opinion just like everyone else does. So don't get mad at me because it isn't right. What I say is far lame than what I see being said elsewhere but that is okay as long as its directed at some other candidates where the hatred just steams misery, huh? I hate no one but I will speak my mind based on what I see and what I hear from credible sources.

I think one of the things that frustrates me most right now is that these candidates throw things out there and hide behind anonymous websites and mailers. (If you're going to call someone out, have the integrity to stand up and admit it). Another is that there are a lot of people out there who want to throw stones at other candidates, but get infuriated when someone challenges the intergrity of the candidate they support.

I am glad that you speak your mind and don't want you to stop, just don't ever let the words in your head, drown out your ability to listen to what others are saying (something I have to constantly remind myself to do)...
I agree. I have tried to say the same thing in other words today. I have seen the wife of one of the candidates slammed because she stood to speak for him. Instead of making her feel good about having done that she was told how nervous and scared she was. Not cool. She did a great job! I really don't care whose opinion it was/is it was just not cool!!

:rant That's BS!! The fact that she got up there should be nothing but commended - anyone that criticizes her needs a little chat about manners.

Mrs. Carruth did a wonderful job in an extremely stressful situation. My heart really went out to her. Her heartbreak and love for her husband really showed.

Usually, it's the loved ones of the person slammed who have the hardest time with it. :(

Just thought this was awesome and needed repeating. ;D

Nobody is bashing his wife, no one. :faint

I along with some others felt sorry for her due to the fact that she had to do that because he couldn't make the time to show up regardless of commitments. He could have stopped by, been the 1st candidate to speak and then head out the door.

Since he is running in my district, I expected him to show up like JK and Heath and speak his mind.

It is unfair to rant about this in the wrong light as if anyone was slamming her which is the furthest from the truth. Don't make something that doesn't exist. :rant

We don't have information on Mr. Carruth's whereabouts yesterday. I didn't ask, did you? But, based upon "current events" I friended him on Facebook last night. It would appear that he has been quite busy campaigning, and not just in Paulding County.

FYI Chris - there was a huge event in Paulding County yesterday which has been around for about 38 years now. That is where Bill Carruth was. I know for a fact he has gone there several times in the past few years and the fact that he was there this year is not unusual.

I am very much a Republican; however, there is a life outside the Republican Party of Paulding County and its events. This is a very worthwhile event that raises money for a very special cause - I am glad Bill Carruth has chosen in the past and currently to support it.

I was told he had an event in another county as well that day. I think we should be praising Laura for attending our meeting and speaking for him. He sent her to represent him which is a common practice among candidates who are stretched thin and YOU know that. Chris I don't think one word should have been said about anything other than how happy we were that she was there and words of encouragement so she would feel good about it if she ever needed to do it again.

We both know that if he had come it would not have changed your vote at all.

Bill Corrupt err Carruth has earned his nickname in the 25 years I've known of him and lived in this County. This stuff goes way back and he is one of the orginal "Good ole Boys". Some of who are still around in a big way. I'll leave it at that....for now.

That's fine if you feel that way. I am staying neutral in this race. My conversation with Chris has to do with comments about Bill's wife and has nothing to do with whether anyone thinks he is corrupt or what kind of job he would do.

I did learn today that they no longer are required to identify themselves on mailers. That certainly needs to be changed back to the old ways.
You can thank Scotus for that. They don't have to tell the truth, they don't have to say who is sending the material, and they don't have to tell you whose money is supporting it. The candidate can claim innocence, and there is no way to prove them right or wrong, even though common sense says differently.

I'm tired of all dirty politics on both sides. I'm tired of Presidents quoting tabloids that have their facts all screwed up, and I'm tired of lies and innuendo appearing in my mailbox in support of a Republican candidate. I'm tired of all of it.

Thanks to SCOTUS, people can go lie saying they're "war heroes."
