Trump to meet with Kim Jong Idiot

It doesn't matter how he spins it, only those inside NK will believe him and they are brainwashed anyway. This is a pattern, rattle sabres then demand a payoff..

Other Presidents have avoided "elevating" the little twerp or his father to the big stage. However, I don't see how anything short of three or four way talks can solve the Korea problem without war, and if this is what it takes to get it done, you have to try. It probably won't make any difference, but in this case you get international credit for the effort.

Many say North Korea is out of resources and money... Kim Jong Idiot has no more options. If they blow this, and let him become funded again, we won't get rid of him until he dies... like Castro.

I don't know how anything can be done without asking him to step down, or taking him out. Then there is the problem that the replacement will be no better to the country. A democracy only comes from the people... not from a dictator.

It will be nothing but a media circus then a complete waste of time.

We didn't think the regime would outlive his father because he seemed too stupid and surely the army would take him out. That's the problem with nation building, be careful what you wish for.

As I read it...
There is another problem in PRNK...
Give or take, something like 300K un-educated peasants that are too sickly to even do janitorial work on a regular basis in a highrise.
What is the world gonna do with them, if PRNK falls from the hands of rocketman?
*Will China take over... finding a place for them (IMO not a good idea to have communist china on the border of SK...
*Will they just die off (not really gonna happen, not a humanitarian solution)...
*Or maybe SK and NK will merge... and with untold foreign aid from all over the world... NK will be built out into an extension of SK's economic wonder.
Each of these solutions has pro's and con's...
IMO... the real issue is how the world leaders plan to deal with the population of PRNK.
When they figure that one out... actually changing govt will be easy.
Meanwhile, it is a stale-mate.

I can only imagine how the Fake News would respond if Trump said NO to the negotiations. I firmly don't believe that Trump will allow concessions unless he comes away with NK denuclearizing. If it doesn't work, they can't (still will anyway) blame him for trying that option first. I think Trump turns little rocket man into his golf caddie.

If we can de-unclearizew PRNK... even if it costs $B's... IMO that is a good thing!

I think the best solution would be to merge the Koreas back into one country... and build out NK to be a manufacturing area for SK...
Once the citizens of NK get a taste of western materialism... rocketman having any control... will be just a fading story of history.

It can't hurt. I'm not expecting huge changes but it can't hurt to start talks at one point. The Hermit country is long overdue in joining the rest of the "civilized" world (I use that word very loosely). If nothing comes of it at least we have a few freed prisoners and they've began to dismantle some nuclear sites.

The Queen and I are planning a trip to Seoul in the next year or two. I'm looking forward to returning and seeing just how much it has changed since 1986. I've heard I won't even recognize it. I would love to see progress with NK before we go.

I don't think we'll ever see one Korea. The little dictator doesn't give a crap about his people, only his power.

Yeah... sadly there are folks like that in power in the world...

If the people of NK ever got a taste of western materialism... even slowly in small doses...they would follow China, in that the people do not want pure communism anymore.

De-nuclearize first...
Then we can work on bringing the isolated nation into contact with the rest of the world...

There's going to be a HUGE problem with how you bring all the citizens of PRNK into the 21st century.
They are under educated to say the least. No computer skills. No banking skills. No idea how to function on their own as the government has completely controlled them. South Korea has set up training centers for those that make it out of PRNK to simply teach them out to function in every day 21st century life. Many are never able to fully integrate.

When Trump and Kim meet to shake hands, it will be a celebratory formality.

The deal is almost done.

Kim Jong un was a prisoner and now he is free.

;)

Good point.

I know little of the people other than they only know propaganda.

It seems that many third world countries start out as the best place to have manufacturing. To be taught to do a skill on an assembly line, and have employment. Gradually then they will emerge into consumers. They are not immigrating to a new country... slow introductions to technology will be embraced. Just as our older family members learned to use an ATM card instead of their checkbook at the grocery store.

Heck, I remember being told Hiram only had one stop light a few years prior to when we moved there in the 90's. Now look at the people who live there. Most don't stop at the intersection to cross on a green light anymore! :ninja: :grin2:
