We did not get the wooden spoon... we got the wood pile... which was all the extra cuts of wood from home repair that were stored in the wood bin ... had to pick it out, hand it over, grab our ankles and hope for the best... this was always done in the driveway so all the neighbors could see.

It was not the pain as much as the embarrassment of the neighbors knowing... and having to tell them what you did.

Much more effective than a time out!
 
Teaspoon of sugar and whiskey for cough medicine. I don't recall if it helped the cough but it sure tasted good!

Actually, you can no longer see the scar from the orginal small pox vaccination. Perhaps that's because a tattoo covers it. The second one didn't cover a large area, perhaps about the size of a dime a best. It blistered a little and oozed before it scabbed over in a few days.

The neighbor gave my mom a spider plant ... I was teasing her she had a 70's plant but no macrame plant holder for it.
