There was a time that I believed that. Now I'm not so sure. We've had a lot of "infiltration".

I remember when JFK was running and my Dad, a true So Baptist, was convinced that the country would be destroyed if a Catholic was elected...
I have been reading some of the Mormon doctrine and although I do not understand the concept of the New Book Of Mormon, they have a lot of
good beliefs and family is their main concern except for God...the prophet Joseph Smith is something I truly do not understand...but their other beliefs are
a lot like most Christian religions ...Who knows what Romney will do about us being a Christian nation....He could not be worse than Obama who decided we
were no longer one...

I agree completely. I know a lot of Mormons and from my contacts and experience they are really family oriented. Like you I don't understand their beliefs but their kindness and true concern for their fellow Americans is evident in all they do.

Besides, I don't believe anyone's religion has had a great influence on the job of POTUS. There are 536 members of Congress and 9 Supreme Court Justices that have as much power as that one man/woman. I'm thinking they are of all different faiths and I doubt one religion would trump them. LOL
 
The fact that Romney is a Mormon doesn't bother me. If anything, it makes him come across as a man of integrity since he is open about his faith. What bothers me about Romney is his personality and the fact that he doesn't come across as a strong leader, but as someone who has difficulty being persuasive or relating to mainstream Americans.

It doesn't bother me he's a Mormon. What bothers me about him is he's not a true conservative.
 
Amen to that. We can only hope that he heeds the call of the true conservatives and actually cuts spending, instead of simply redirecting it to his cronies.
