Here's my current opinion on this matter. Newt will garner the conservative vote and he is now reaching out to grasp the middle of the road vote. (Independents). Romney sees that conservatives will not come into his camp regardless. Conservatives have backed 4 different candidates so far this season and Romney sees that. He has been at 22 - 24% from day one. He has to have more to get the nomination and now he is trying to say what the conservatives want to hear but his real stance is right here.
I agree. Obama owned the Hispanic vote last time and that needs to change. Assuming Newt gets the nomination....if he can get a few percent of the Hispanic vote and turn out the conservatives; he wins. Even though the vast majority of black voters still support Obama; they won't turn out in the numbers they did last time. He won't do as well among young voters as last time either.
At this point, Newt probably has the best odds of defeating Barry.
