I Am Beginning To Think That Newt......

If your problem with Romney is the Healthcare bill he signed as governor keep in mind that the people in that state wanted it. He did what his State wanted him to do. I feel the same as mei lan about him but I will hold my nose and vote for him. I am still in the Cain camp. I like his honesty. Yes I think he was honest about the women.

I am curious, if you agree with 95% of what someone says, should you jump ship over the 5%? Is this issue high enough on the priority list to change candidates? To me, a non-conservative Obama healthcare sympathizer like Romney isn't an option. That shows too much liberalism for me to swallow.

Quite honestly, if Newt and Mitt are our only choices, we're in a world of hurt. One is more liberal than several Bluedog Democrats, and the other has a long history of infidelity, lies, and expanding government.

The ONLY thing that Mitt has going for him is that he's far better than Obama, and he so far appears to be top dog in the general election. If he is the party choice, I'll vote for him next November. I still haven't given up on Herman, I just wish he would get a competent campaign manager and a tutor in foreign affairs.

So, true.

I'm so tired of voting for the lesser of two evils.

I do, too. I hope he can weather this and begin to shine as he did a few weeks earlier.

Yes, We CAIN!

I think Cain was honest, too. I could vote for him...he's my #2, but only because of the foreign policy thing...otherwise, he'd be my #1.

I still like Herman as my first choice but after that, I don't know. Newt maybe then Perry then Santorum then Satan then Romney.

I thought about it when I left the office. You're right, it could either be obama or the popular favorite.....Hillary.

Here's Newt on O'Reily last night addressing the same questions some have here.

I saw some of it. I still do not believe illegals should be given legal status. Let them remain illegal! They broke the law and should not be rewarded in any way for it. If they are given legal status it will encourage more to come. I know what Newt said. I won't make any futher comments on what I think his motives are.

Here's my current opinion on this matter. Newt will garner the conservative vote and he is now reaching out to grasp the middle of the road vote. (Independents). Not a bad idea when you're looking toward the general election. Romney sees that conservatives will not come into his camp regardless. Conservatives have backed 4 different candidates so far this season and Romney is quite aware. He has been at 22 - 24% from day one. He has to have more to get the nomination and now he is trying to say what the conservatives want to hear but his real stance is right here.

His position 3 years ago was very similar to Newt's current plan. I believe this is the real Romney because he has been know to flip flop. I will add that Romney may have a new position and he may well stand on this line if he gets in office because "that's what his voters want" just like the MA Healthcare Law. I guess we'll see as time goes by.

I agree. Obama owned the Hispanic vote last time and that needs to change. Assuming Newt gets the nomination....if he can get a few percent of the Hispanic vote and turn out the conservatives; he wins. Even though the vast majority of black voters still support Obama; they won't turn out in the numbers they did last time. He won't do as well among young voters as last time either.

At this point, Newt probably has the best odds of defeating Barry.

I'm not assuming Newt or Mitt will be the nominee. The polls in 2008 showed Giuliani and Thompson in the lead at this point, with McCain at something like 4%. Even though the first primaries are soon, there's still a Long Way To Go in this one. We could even end up with a brokered convention. I'm so tired of thinking about all this. I think I need to go lie down on my fainting couch.

Haha! I love it! I haven't heard that phrase in years. I've been looking at furniture. I think I want one of those in every room!

I agree but McCain wasn't "damaged goods" sitting at 4% either. Unfortunately, some of our guys are getting knocked out before the whole thing gets started. I hope Perry and Cain can make a strong showing again just for diversity reasons if nothing else. I don't like a two man race before the first election is even held. Well, one for me since Romney isn't in my race.

Perry is the only other GOP candidate that has a chance, and it isn't good after his poor debate showings. Unless Cain manages a miraculous comeback (which would be fine with me), it will be Newt or Romney.

I think there's still a chance either Cain or Bachman could be the running mate.

If all those allegations aren't proven to be false, no one will touch him as a running mate - no matter what his true character may be.

Yeah, I'm worried about that. I hoped that he could be the veep if not the prez.
