Hiram Mayor Resigns

What the heck happened last night? I read it on Patch, but not sure I understand really what happened. It seems he was blindsided by some folks and did not want to participate and resigned. Huh?! I am confused. ;D

wth is going on in Hiram? They seem to have a lot of infighting going on.

I guess some were let go too. I do not understand what the heck happened. They obviously did not need his permission to do what they did, but you don't even tell him? I guess I probably would have resigned too. I don't think I would work with people that do things like that.
(disclaimer: just my opinion on what I can gather from the article)

They've had all kinds of drama over there with the police department and the other mayor, too. Do you have a link to the article that you were reading? I know nothing of this latest episode of As Hiram Turns.

Oh wow!! Hiram is extremely volatile lately. Wonder who'll step up to the plate and straighten things out??

He was always a good teacher... The kids and parents loved him

Sad. A few years ago things seem to be going great. And Mayor Rollins did a lot of great things for the City.

It sounds to me as if the new city council members had a meeting of their own and established an agenda prior to the scheduled meeting. If this is indeed what took place, it may be a violation of the Georgia Open Meetings Act. Interesting.

I have to agree with you Fox.

I'm thinking Sadie needs to move to Hiram and run for mayor!! Go Sadie, you have my vote!! :cheer1 :cheer1 :cheer1

From what little that I've seen, I've always gotten the impression that this city government doesn't like to play nice with each other.

This sounds like some church splits I have had the non-pleasure of being a part of.

Same people....different building is all it is :'(

The new members were sworn in before the first meeting of the year. I think it was usually done at the first meeting. There was a shift in the way the council leans when the new members were elected. It will work its self out. I am not surprised that the Mayor resigned. I hope for the sake of the city of Hiram that everything settles down and the right decisions will be made going forward. It will cost them to have another election for Mayor and it will be interesting to see who steps up to run.
