I see Harry Reid's comment did exactly what it was meant to do. :thumbsup

That was? (I thought his comment was about a presidential candidate)

Well and his latest about the sequester causing the death of soldiers. While we try to instill the right values in our children and do the right things, vile humans such a Harry Reid continue to spew lies and hate. Americans do one several things, ignore it, realize it's vile and disgusting or think he's right. He's a member of Congress, what he says is broadcast across the world. Our children hear it, even if we don't want them to.

Yea, I understand about compromising our values, but damnit, it's about time we realize the orchestrated lies of the left and the MSM have a bigger impact on our offspring than we want to admit. This is not about who's right and who's wrong, this is about a deliberate attempt by the left to gain sympathy based on lies and innuendos.

The whole message is not that Reid is a Pederast but rather people shouldn't say something that is vile and disgusting, not to mention a lie. I don't believe for one minute Reid is guilty of being a Pederast. But I also don't believe for one minute sequestration is responsible for the deaths of those marines either.

At least Honeybunny has succeeded in initiating a good discussion. :thumbsup Unfortunately we're looking at the words and not the purpose.

I do see what you are saying NG. The problem I have is that as much as people do hear what he said, they hear what we said too. They are hearing the words and I do believe when people hear that they think along the lines of the conservative religious republicans spewing that sort of thing and just makes us look as asinine as Reid and his latest moronic statement. To me, we (collectively) are just as wrong in doing that. :dunno

Nope, this story is being blacklisted by the mainstream media.

The entire point of the "pederast" campaign was to get the media to take notice
of his outrageous and offensive conduct. His own staffers have scrubbed any
mention of these remarks from video and transcripts. Contrast that with the
media celebrating the false allegations against Romney and you see the point.

Fire must be fought with fire, lest we lay down and surrender to their control.

Fire is best fought with water... :whistle

The media does not report "water" in liberal politics.

Never said it did. But more and more the "Atlas Shrugged" mentality is failing us. (And, I'm talking in the political arena, not a personal one) :seesaw

My point continues to be that the "pedophile" comments against Reid are apparently ONLY an issue here on this board and today.

Because this is the only place I've heard them... I haven't been watching a lot of news lately other than Fox5 at 10 p.m. and they haven't been talking about it. They talked about the explosion last night, but said absolutely nothing about Harry Reid or any comments made by him or about him.

That might be true, I was responding to NG saying his comments are broadcast to the world because of his position.
We do know the media runs with some things and I see the point of fighting back. I just do not see the point in fighting back as it was done. Plus, has it worked? I do not think so based on Madea saying this accusation was made months ago and yet the man opened his mouth again with ridiculous statements.

Again, the original comment was made 6 months ago. This counter-comment never made news then, and it isn't now. HB was simply making the point that "there he goes again". A metaphor, if you will. Or at least this is my take on it.

The original point of the story is completely lost now in a disagreement or whether or not an attack should have been launched on Reid.

No it isn't. Both HB and I have brought up his stupid comments regarding the marines numerous times throughout this thread.

The original point isn't lost, it has just simply evolved to a new discussion...

BUT.IT.SHOULDN'T.BE.LOST.

Reid is blaming the death of (now) EIGHT American soldiers on "sequester". That is ABSURD! and should NOT be tolerated by the American people!

Then let's post the full comment (which I had to go to another link to get):

"One of the things in sequester is we cut back in training and maintenance. That's the way sequester was written," the Nevada senator said. "It's just not appropriate, Mr. President, that our military can't train and do the maintenance necessary. These men and women were Marines who were training there in Hawthorne, and with the sequester, it's going to cut this stuff back."

Um, again, I have mentioned as has HB about the stupidity of his remarks in this thread NUMEROUS times. He is an idiot. I have said he should apologize. He should not have made the comments. Why is no one calling him on that statement? That I can not answer, but if I read the statement and think it is moronic others that have the ability to question it should be.

He is still using the death of eight Americans to bring in the sequester talks. Inappropriate. It still plants the thought that without "sequester" this wouldn't have happened.

I am obviously not sure of his intent, and it could be a bad one, but could he not have just been trying to prevent another tragedy? After reading the whole comment, I did not take it as poorly as I did the snippet.

Actually, I'm beginning to this this was blown out of proportion. His speech started with the incident at Hawthorne and didn't move to the sequester until after that. Here is the link to his actual comments on Hawthorne - the sequester comments didn't come until later in the speech.

Reid Speaks on Senate Floor About Explosion Near Hawthorne Army Depot

First and foremost, my life as a former jr media analyst and political blogger
has nothing to do with what I teach my child... politics is an issue for adults.
My child is taught kindness, respect, patriotism, and basic general civic info.

Those who know me and my style can confirm that I almost always attack
the issue instead of the person, my focus is policy. In rare circumstances a
literary device is of hyperbole maybe warranted in order to bring attention.

These less than savory actions are neccessary only because the media is corrupt.
Without that provacative title this little story would have went totally unnoticed...
