Father who left child in hot car charged with murder

I won't be surprised if the wife is arrested in the near future as a co-conspirator. I hope they go after the death penalty in this case.

At the end of the hearing, the judge denied bond and said this was a potential death penalty case.

And I think she will be, too.

Yall need to "unplug" from this story. It's going to get a LOT worse when the trial starts. The real damning info will not be released until then. I'm afraid they have barely scratched the surface yet.

I do believe I heard the detective say that there will be additional charges coming because of stuff found during the investigation.

I've been thinking about what you said since last night. Ordinarily, I am all about wanting to hear every detail of a case - even bad ones. With this one, though - I just don't want to hear any more. Ye gods. I can't even imagine what's already happened, much less worse things. :'( :'( :'(

If I'd thrown up every time I felt sick since I first heard about this case, I'd be dead by now.

Here's some interesting info from today's AJC article I did not know:

But if, as many increasingly believe, her husband ends up facing more significant murder charges, prosecutors may seek to use Leanna Harris as a witness. In Georgia, the spousal privilege shielding a wife from testifying against her husband, and vice-versa, doesn’t apply in cases of domestic violence or death of a child.

I did not know this! But me likey!!! And me hopes she has to be released from a jail cell to testify!

I also did not know that (according to a legal person in the story) that knowledge of a crime is not prosecutable. Cover-up is, which I knew, but I'd never thought about about the knowing part.

Thia make me think of the Casey Anthony case all over again.
I was thinking about that. She got off even in the face of what seemed like overwhelming evidence. I hope that Cobb really has all of their ducks in a row here, no slight intended. It's a tough sell when it's such an incomprehensible crime.

Cobb prosecutors will do well with it. Not the first time for these types of charges for them. Just most of these cases never hit the news. There were 3 similar cases since this happened but the children were rescued in time by bystanders. One of these cases a dog did die but the child survived. These three cases barely made a blip in the media.

I know you're right, but I can't. I will not seek out information, but it is constantly on my mind. I regret watching that entire hearing... Too much sad, sick, devastating information. I did not know this little boy, or his disgusting parents. But I have a young son. BabyB is only 5 months older. And I cannot stop thinking about it: when I am strapping BabyB into his car seat; when I see a silver SUV; when I just open the car door and I'm hit with a rush of very hot and stuffy air; asking MrB to please change a light bulb in the kitchen for me on Saturday; the fact that MrB's office is right over there and he works closely with Home Depot.

It's just always there.

Both the princess's camp and our firm's daycare is participating in the "Look Again" program. I don't believe for a moment that this incident was an accident, but I'm glad these organizations are doing this.

I read today that it happened again, this time a 3 year old in NC. So far they're saying the kid wandered away from the house and got trapped inside a car. Again, I guess it's possible, but now I'm more cynical. They're investigating.

Father who left child in hot car charged with murder

When/if they charge the mom, it's gonna get nastier. I'm thinking both of them will be running their mouths about the other's involvement/prior discussions/etc. These 2 people are monsters of phenomenal proportion in my book.

Yes, ma'am, and I would like to be a fly on the wall when each of them learns that the spousal privilege thingy doesn't apply in this case. OH, I am so loving that prosecutors can compel them to testify against each other.
