Crist Applies for waste collection / recycling facility permit

Per Ron Crist:

"I have been told by a hundred people who it is. Says the person is extremely dirty behind closed doors and nice to your face. ((friend)) . The problem is in not opening a waste faculty. I am only dealing with shingles, pallets that come in and maybe cardboard."

"In addition, it is only going to be private I am not even opening to the public. That is why I am not even putting a sign up."

Ron plans to write a letter and apologize for the person that has steered this up and tell the city the truth.

Renting is not an issue....it's whoever is spreading everything else. His reference to a "sign" was referring to everything else.

Renting can be an issue if they bring the full cans back there to dump them.

As I said....my mind is open. I want to hear both sides and then I'll make up my mind.

In my limited interactions with Ron Crist, he's a genuinely nice guy. And I've known of his political plans and move for a while. I'll keep my eyes open.

I know Ron, he is a good man.

NOT being ugly when I ask this...

What does "Ron" being a "good man" have to do with it? :dunno

Promise.....just asking....

Because he is a good man and his so-called plans being circulated is not accurate. Seems to me that someone or maybe others has an issue with him so they come out with something that is way beyond of what Ron's plans were to be. And whoever sent it out, hasn't revealed his/her name which raises questions in my mind.

I would like to know who sent he letter out. Perhaps that would give us some insight as to the motives behind it.

Seems you all may have been misled. :tapfoot2This facility is to be a "Recycle Center" not a "Waste Facility". To be specific, it is simply to collect and or separate wood, metal, plastic, cardboard and roofing shingles so that they can be re-purposed and not just sit in a landfill. The above listed materials will be transferred to the proper companies and or facilities so that they can be contributed to new products and or resources. This "Recycle Center" will not be taking in any household waste or any hazardous materials. This facility will not be generating anything that is bad for our environment nor will it be generating any smells or rodent infestation. We love Hiram, we live and work here and we want to keep it clean. This facility will help contribute to a better environment for our kids and our future. THINK GREEN!! :goodjob

Thank you for adding to the conversation NTH. Maybe your input will help clear up and misconceptions. And, BTW, Welcome to The Hwy.

Please pm me if you would interested in speaking about your facility for the Green Highlands annual Earth Day event, April 22nd.

So, if this is a recycling center that will allow Crist an opportunity to repurpose some of the materials they use at a job site, why are folks getting their panties twisted up about it? If anything, it might give Crist an opportunity to turn their recycling into bigger savings for their customers because they can do something to keep their garbage costs down. (And, it might create a few new jobs).
