Cherokee Sheriff Under Attack...

The media are vicious … they attack the white boys 24/7, yet the ebonics speaking class are put upon a pedestal. Nothing to see here, just another typical day in the neighborhood.

CBS News engaged in blatant false attacks on the Cherokee county sheriff this morning...

Saying the sheriff is humanizing the killer... for simply relaying the results of the preliminary interview ???

Unfreakingbelievable.

Buckle Up...

Gayle King is a monster.

I am a huge supporter of law enforcement. Let's be honest this guy doesn't sound like a genius. In todays climate he is just adding fuel to the fire by perpetuating the stereo typical southern uneducated good ole boy county sheriff. I do believe the media is biased, no I know they are biased toward anyone who is white and says anything about any other race. This is a witch hunt. However it is a witch hunt sparked by the ignorance of a person who is probably a lot better officer than spokesman. The media is so one sided this guy should have had no comment about the case other than the details of arrest. He may have very well damaged the DA's case by giving details of the initial interrogation to the media. 15 minutes of fame can be 14:59 too long for some people.

I'm sorry, I do not see where he said anything wrong to deserve this demonization.

It seemed to me as if he was trying to tamp down the media flames...

I agree with you. CPT Baker should never have said anything about the interview to the media. "...was pretty much fed up and kind of at the end of his rope" and that Tuesday "was a really bad day for him, and this is what he did." That comes across as if he is sympathizing with the killer. The comment he put on FB about the T-shirts was classical moronic move and does come across as anti-Asian.

Compared to when I was a kid, the racism and slurs are only a fraction of what they used to be. Virtually everyone looked down on the Jews, blacks, Asians, Indians, Pollocks...you name it.

Not saying that was OK, just making a point that our society is naturally evolving and moving away from that kind of stuff. Some of this hypersensitivity these days is doing more harm than good.

I agree. I can remember hearing the "N" word being used a lot while living in Augusta as a kid. I also heard gook, Nip, Himey, and other derogatory terms for people. I really haven't heard those words much these days, except for in movies made during the last 10 years. One thing I just can't understand; black people hate the N word, but they call each other that all the time and the black rappers use it in their lyrics. I just don't get it.

Yep. I understand why they are sensitive to it, but it should be universally wrong to use. Using it in rap songs and stuff just keeps it alive.

Here's an idea, don't have a conversation with anyone who isn't "your kind." That should cover all groups and prevent anyone from being offended. Granted it would push us back 60 years but at least it won't be a daily topic.

"Excuse me, sorry, I can't speak with you."

That is 'Racism by Exclusion' and punishable by fine and imprisonment...

They've got us either way, they just want us to shut up and let them do all the talking and make all the decisions!!!

Exactly....I was actually kidding about it but that's seems like the only option left. Instead of moving society forward we're going bass-ackwards.

He posted a pic of t-shirts that described Covid as being imported from China. That’s not anti-Asian.

Maybe not to you and others, but to the liberal news media it is. When Baker posted that, he gave ammunition to the liberal media to blast the hell out of the Sheriff's Office. Baker will now be depicted as a racist and the SO at fault for hiring and promoting racists within their ranks. LEO officers are getting a very bad rap from the media and stupidity as Baker displayed only gives them more ammunition. If I were Sheriff, I'd can him.

I could not disagree more... :nono:

This is a witch hunt.

The media is going out of their way to burn Republicans and LEOs and because of that, when Baker or any Republican says or posts something like Baker did, it only helps to serve the liberal media's agenda. It's this kind of stupid stuff that takes the focus away from the good Republicans and LEOs do. If people just engaged their brains before putting their mouths in gear, it would stop providing the liberal media sound bites and print that support their agenda. In this case, the Cherokee County Sheriff is taking heat for what one of his command officers said in a statement to the press and what that same officer posted online.

I doubt that any one of us would survive the media scrutiny that he has endured.

The media is creating these strawman narratives out of whole cloth,
it serves no purpose to do their bidding by affirming that narrative.

They are taking heat because the press is fundamentally dishonest.

There was nothing wrong with what he said or posted...
