The Boston Globe is reporting that they have a suspect on video in the bombings from Monday....

Update: Fox News is reporting an arrest has been made. They are awaiting a Press Briefing with more information.

Newer Update: News stations are backing down on report of an arrest. It does appear they have a suspect.
 
Image shows suspect carrying, perhaps dropping, black bag

An official briefed on the Boston Marathon bombing investigation said today that authorities have an image of a suspect carrying, and perhaps dropping, a black bag at the second bombing scene on Boylston Street, outside of the Forum restaurant.

Investigators are “very close” in the investigation, said the official, who declined to be named.

That official said authorities may publicize their finding as early as this afternoon.

The same official also said a surveillance camera at Lord & Taylor, located directly across the street, has provided clear video of the area, though it was unclear whether the image of the suspect was taken from that camera.

CNN and Fox are backing down on an arrest citing conflicting reports. It does appear, however that they may have a named suspect.

DOJ and Boston PD have both issued statements indicating that NO arrest has been made. News Conference scheduled for 5PM
 
There is no confusion, they were advised to revise the story, for now. "Daddy" slapped their hands. I'm sure they'll want to use a WH press conference to reveal any arrest so O-Bummer gets full credit.

THAT is my biggest fear. This tragedy has ruined so many lives. We don't need another casualty.

If you look at how his case was handled, it was a perfect example of how these things go sideways. The cops are reacting to tremendous pressure and grasp at the first straw. They then spend weeks trying to make that straw fit all of the evidence, sidetracking resources, ignoring other leads, and allowing the real case to go cold. The similarities here are striking. I hope that the cops have learned something, because the media obviously hasn't.

I'm going with the guy in the brown jacket looking at his cell phone in the top left corner... But I'm just guessing!
 
I'd still like to know why at 1:30 they had a suspect and announced a 5pm press conference. at 2pm they had someone in custody and announced a 5pm press conference. The press conference never happened and all reports of "someone in custody" were changed.

Sorry, I just don't trust these guys on this.
