Amazon Logistics

Never had an issue with Amazon deliveries. Usually USPS or UPS. I only remember the white van one time during the holidays when I was ordering a lot during a very busy schedule for deliveries. Here is my advice and people can choose to completely ignore it if they want to. Slow down, chill out, order critical items well ahead of drop dead deadlines. I understand the frustration of late deliveries because I deal with a lot of logistics in my business. Ten or twenty years ago if you could get a package in two weeks that was fast and you were happy. Now folks want items as soon as they click the mouse. With out waxing philosophical this is a snap shot of todays world. Faster, stressful, do it yesterday, what have you done for me today, instant gratification, mind numbing information instantly, etc. I truly believe we are being programmed by the machines in a non-conspiracy way. I think I will leave a little early and take the long slow way to the jobsite in protest of the machines.

I mostly agree that many of us have the "give it to me now" attitude these days. However, it's beyond frustrating when a company promises something and doesn't deliver. It's also beyond frustrating when they keep doing that over and over and over again.

All that sounds great but tomorrow I get to chat with their support again when the package isn't delivered again (tracking info shows no change in the last week so it's most certainly lost again).

This is simply just funny at this point (and incredibly frustrating). The package wasn't delivered today as I suspected. I just spent about an hour on Amazon chat trying to get an answer to the simple question of "why her promising me it'll be delivered tomorrow is any different from the prior promises I've gotten that weren't met". She could never answer that question. I was finally able to get her to just cancel the order but that's not the end of it. She did a "customer refused: stop and return" action so the carrier (Amazon Logistics) has to return it to Amazon before I'll get a refund. Considering that the package appears to be lost based on the tracking info, they will likely never get it back so I get to complain to their chat help again next week to fight for a refund..

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I had three packages due today that were shipped UPS. None of them made it, and one was time critical.

I hate to admit it, but the USPS is doing better than any of them right now.

I agree with your statement there, if you can't deliver on time then don't promise it.....and communicate that it won't deliver on time BEFORE it's late. I deal with this issue daily with our company. I despise having to call a customer to inform them that their shipment isn't picking or delivering the day it was scheduled but I have to do it. It seems like it goes in cycles, everything runs smoothly for a while then BAM!!! Several late picks or deliveries.

I have two packages I needed by today with the post office that are no where to be found....I will be out trying to replace those things with something this morning. One with Fed Ex that was sent out 2 day air and has been rescheduled from Wednesday to Thursday and the latest email this morning, now Friday.:faint: I have one with UPS that did not make the last plane so it is in Louisville. :rolleyes2:

I know they are all slammed, husband said that the planes from Louisville to Atlanta are blown out and they are already having to get FAA approval for numerous trips back and forth above what is scheduled and this early for that problem is unheard of, it has happened before the 10 days leading up to Christmas. I am sure that if it is already happening with UPS it is also an issue with others. All these "new" online shoppers need to stop. o_O :p

It appears it's not just the airplanes, I ordered a monitor from Staples on Sunday, I was emailed it was "shipped" on Tues for a Thursday delivery. However, UPS showed it still wasn't at their site until this morning and now it's a Friday delivery. I'm guessing either the warehouse was way behind or they didn't have space on the trucks to get it to UPS.

People are shopping too much! I'm telling you they need to stop so I can shop. :D

Kudos to the post office yesterday. The mail lady knocked on our door at 6:15 to deliver a package that she could have left in the mailbox but didn't because it was so late and she figured that we had already checked our mail. I just wanted to hug her, but you know that sexual harassment thing.

Along with the delivery issues y'all have been sharing, I'm starting to hear about the ramp up of package theft from the front door. A neighborhood website already has several mentions.

Going to be a long holiday .... again

Our house can't be seen from the street which is a blessing and a curse. Our drive is over 500 feet long through the woods. We very seldom buy anything expensive online, but when I bought a TV for the cabin the UPS driver, UPS mind you, leaned it against the mailbox and skedaddled. Thank goodness I have UPS My Choice which notified me within a few minutes of the delivery or that thing would have been gone. It was in the factory box with a big picture of it on the front.

I called UPS immediately and at first they said that he must not have been able to get down the driveway. When I told them that I was home and nothing was blocking the driveway, they apologized and admitted that he was a replacement driver because our regular guy was out.

About four days later, here comes a UPS guy walking down the driveway with another package. I asked him if his truck broke down and he said that he was afraid that there might not be a place to turn around and he didn't want to have to back out. SMH. We never saw him again thank goodness.

We haven't had any mail at the office in two days.

That doesn't happen!

Unfortunately, most of our checks come in the mail.
