Otherwise, you are opening yourself up to legal issues if ANYONE who utilizes your wireless does something they shouldn't. The owner of the account can be held liable. Also, they have some access to your network (computer) - although that is limited it is still something to consider.

I need to secure mine. I live out in the woods so I thought I was OK. But a neighbor I had told me his kid was getting on it. Maybe it's the high gain antenna on it. Yes, I put an external antenna on the router to extend the range so I could sit out on the deck and surf. I'm such a nerd sometimes.

Ok thanks. I already went that way once with WildBlue. It was like 80.00 a month and wasnt much better than what I got now. Oh well. Finally heard something from comcast today. They are going to charge me ????? to run the new lines. I have to pay not sure what they said I should know within 72 hours.

My cell service is AT&T, but before the merger it was Cingular. Before the merger, I always had a strong cell signal at the house. No my signal is pathetic at best. Using my cell at home is very difficult and frustrating. I think I'll look into a cellular repeater to see if that helps.

As long as you have reasonable signal outside, it will help a lot. The smaller units are fairly cheap now and easy to install. My signal at home has gotten bad too.

Yep. Does well all in all, but my signal at home has been rough lately. I know they have been making changes in towers; seems that it isn't all good.

AT&T sold a lot of Cingular's towers after they bought the company out. I had a Cingular tower close to me and I always had a strong signal a the house. After they sold that tower to someone else, my signal went to heck. Don't count on AT&T keeping all of T-Mobile's towers. I can guarantee you they will sell some of them.

We have been with T-Mobile since they became T-Mobile. We love them too. I have never ever had a problem with them. Their customer service is awesome. (Example; 2 months ago my son accidentally downloaded a GPS app for $10.00. He has built in GPS (genus, I know) and did not need it. We didn't catch on the first month and called last month to tell them it was accidental could they make sure it was removed. They did and credited us for the two months, which they did not have to. It was my son's fault. They said things happen and they did not want us paying for things that we do not use or need. Awesome.)
