Yes July is more than 60 days ya silly BUt We had a 3 year lease so I would still have another year left after thatunionmom said:I admit that my math is a little rusty but ... isn't July a bit more than 60 days from now? ) (I know there's more to it ... I'm just in one of those moods.)
It depends on the terms in the lease. I always had a clause in the lease that would let me sell with 30 days notice. Never let a tenent control your property.DallasRed said:I rent my house out and I was told by my agent that I couldn't sell it while I had a renter in there.
Callahan said:This is the way the lease is on my rental house. The party of the first part (I am the landlord) can terminate the lease at any time with 30 days notice. They can only terminate the lease at the end of the lease period, which is a year, with 30 days noticemei lan said:ShoeDiva said:I know this might be a stupid question but if you have a lease can he just do that?
This was my question as well...wouldn't your lease stay in effect until the end of the three years, or does it have a clause that says if it sells, you're SOL?
BB - I'm so, so sorry. Geez Louise, what a sucky weekend.
Signing a lease, as a renter, is the most one way document you will ever sign.

Why would she want an Attorney? To enforce a lease on a rental house she doesn't want? Sue the owners? It would be a waste of time and money.

I was just going by what my agent told me. Really how can I make a tenant do showings? It's not like they would rush to clean and make it look nice...And in this market, I wouldn't bother selling my house. I would lose way too much money, I would rather keep it and let a tenant pay my mortgage.
To the OP, I would ask the owner to provide you with a bank statement so you can see that they are up to date on paying their mortgage. Sounds to me they are going to do a short sale, I can’t see anyone making or even breaking even on a house in GA..Unless they bought it 10+ years ago. My tenant wants me to show it her at least 2 times a year, I have no problem doing it.
Good luck.
