I don't care for it but there is something about that saltiness and sweetness that go together. BTW, the peanuts don't get mushy. As for boiled peanuts, yuck. I'd starve in the arctic before eating those things.

Salty & Sweet is a great combo. Floating pieces of stuff in my drink, not so much.

I am right there with you on starving if it came down to those boiled peanuts.
 
I don't like boiled peanuts either. I've tried them, but didn't like them. When I was a kid in Augusta, we used to put salted peanuts in our bottle of Coke quite often. It is good and the peanuts do not get mushy. I tried it once after they went to the plastic bottles, but it didn't taste the same as it does in a glass bottle.

Boiled peanuts are the bomb!!! I love 'em! Nothing like riding down the road, popping a boiled peanut in my mouth and throwing the shells out the window! :p
 
SD, coke and peanuts are the best thing since sliced bread! But like Fox said, not good unless in a glass bottle. You get a pack of salted roasted peanuts and a glass bottle coke and your set! The taste is amazing! and yep I love love love boiled peanuts to! I am a southern girl, what can I say.

Hey SD, I think you and I need to take a road trip maybe to Lizard Lick NC (hahahahaha) and I'll teach you how to eat peanuts and coke and boiled peanuts the right way! :thumbsup :laugh

Recipe #1)
Put one bag of raw peanuts from kroger into the crock pot, one 16oz can of beer, four tablespoons of salt, then fill the rest of the crock pot with water.
Boil on high untill shells are dark brown approx 8 hours.
Recipe #2)
Same as above but use a Miller High Life can of beer (it is sweeter tasting), and add approx four tablespoons of sugar.
Be sure to eat them while they are still warm, if they do cool you can nuke em in the micro wave about 45 seconds.
ETA; be sure to check on the crock pot to add water as needed during the boiling process.
