Resident of the least visited state in the nation.
The thread on TV shows got me thinking about theme songs to different shows. What are your favorites? One good website to hear them is http://www.televisiontunes.com/

For me, a few favorites (in no order and no relation to whether or not I like the actual show:


Typing this list, I realized I could keep going. There are so many out there, but I decided to limit myself to 10.

Off the top of my head, I'd have to say that the theme songs to Andy Griffith Show and Beverly Hillbillies are both great...TAGS because of its simplicity, which completely matches the show, and the Beverly Hillbillies because of the great bluegrass of Flatt and Scruggs, again matching the show. Green Acres' funny theme song comes to mind as well for the same reasons. Who can forget the ballad-type fun of the Gilligan's Island theme?

MASH's theme song is memorable because of its darkness ("Suicide is Painless")...I mute the TV when it comes on because I hate hearing the lyrics in my head. Shows like Criminal Minds and Without A Trace are low-key and have an element of uncertainty to them, which is fitting. L&O's theme is iconic by this time, and I seem to recall Hill Street Blues having a good theme song as well. Ditto Simon & Simon and Rockford Files.
 
I'm not a big TV watcher, but here are the ones that came to mind for me - the intro to Elmo's World, the theme song to Wonder Pets, Shake It Up, and Good Luck Charlie.

Oh, I gotta give points to Drake & Josh and SpongeBob Squarepants...D&J written and performed by Drake Bell, and who doesn't know the SpongeBob song? :D
