Pope says Trump is not a Christian

I disagree. A wall will not only keep people out, but it will also keep people in (ask the folks in Berlin). And, if we are protecting our southern border, what about our northern border? Let's really make this place exclusive.
Sorry, I was referring to the wasteful programs going away.

But as for the wall, who of us wants to walk into the wilds of Mexico?

Northern border? Canada? You can't build a wall there, our next President won't be able to visit home. :p:laugh2:

I'm pretty sure we don't have a lot of Canadians spilling over the boarder and sucking up our resources.

So no northern border needed. And not a fair comparison.

I haven't read all the posts. But I will say this: the Pope is a man of God. He is the Pope. He has devoted his life to God, and still continues to do so; he practices His word daily. I was born and raised a Catholic. I may not be practicing, but I respect the man and what he represents. He didn't build the wall around Vatican City. And of course he will say prayers for those who died trying to flee across the border; he's the Pope.

And really, if anyone wants to compare Trump to the Pope... Well, I have no words for that. I just really don't.

Sorry, I just feel like telling the Pope to tear down the wall around The Vatican as an answer to Trump's wall Is just silly and irrelevant.

But I still love everyone!! :nun::dancing:

Trump seemed a little upset that the pope questioned his Christianity. He even went as far as saying nobody should question the Christianity of another, yet he has questioned Cruz's Christianity as well as Carson's during this campaign. http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs...fter-questioning-obama-and-cruzs-christianity

The pope pretty much said the US should allow more immigrants into the country. The US currently has 45 million immigrants living within its borders; 4 times more than any other country in the world. The country with the next highest amount of immigrants is Russia with 11 million, followed by Germany (9.8 million), Saudi Arabia (9 million), United Arab Emirates (7.8 million), the UK (7.8 million), and France (7.4 million).

Instead of standing in Mexico at our border and chastising the US about its immigration policies, why don't he go to Argentina where he's from originally and chastise them as they have only 1.8 million immigrants?

:agreed:

The one thing I know for certain out of all of this discussion is this; If I made a post and declared that any of our members of faith here were not Christain, this place would blow up with complaints and reported posts.

It is not anyone's place to make such an accusation. Not Trump, not myself and not even the Pope. Nuff said.

I do not think anyone here disagrees with that statement. Well, except for the ones that have done exactly that.

So how many illegals should we allow into our country ? ? ?

I've had my faith questioned here plenty of times....

How many trillions of dollars are we willing to spend on this wall?

I believe that LTD did the math on this once... maybe he will chime in.

I do remember that it was less than the cost of subsidizing services for illegals.

;)

I still remember the $400 hammers and $600 toilet seats so I would be interested in this.

What do you place the value of a life at? As there have been many, many murders by the hands of illegals in this Country......including a Cobb County Deputy Sheriff that was a friend and co-worker of GC and myself.

How about all the drugs being smuggled across the border? And those victims from the overdoses or the crimes committed by the abusers?

How much do we spend on medical and welfare for all these illegals coming into the Country? Or the medical costs of diseases being spread to population by these illegals?

How about the Mexican drug gang members currently taking over small US cities/areas along the border?

Last, how many Countries have open borders? Most of the Countries where these illegals are coming from shoot first when you enter their Country!

We can play this game all day but in the end, it will be more cost effective to build the wall. You don't have to feed, house or medically treat a wall!

I don't recall anyone declaring a member here as not being a Christian who says they are. The quick fingers on the REPORT button would have fallen off.

Fine, but why aren't we willing to explore other alternatives to the illegal immigration policies? Everyone seems to think a "wall" is the answer. I'm simply saying that y'all should be careful of what you are wishing for - what happens when the government decides to seal those borders and not let anyone out? Honestly, if everyone is as concerned about a possible Socialist government coming, a wall is the last thing you are going to want, right?
