Name a movie....

My watch anytime movies:

The Joy Luck Club - I don't know why, but I love that movie
Steel Magnolias - Still makes me cry
The Devil Wears Prada
Beauty Shop - w/Queen Latifa - it's a cute movie

Okay, and now for my weird side:

The Rocky Horror Picture Show - "let's do the time warp again" - I went to this movie every Friday night in college and probably still know every line (and the audience response to every line).

I told you it was weird - we started going to it in college because that's where the cute guys were (along with the creepy ones) and it just became an every Friday night kind of thing. It's been a "few" years since I've seen it, it's just not the same on video as it is in the theater.

LOL. I never saw it in a theater, just a video and that could be why I did not enjoy it.

Rocky Horror is an experience so seeing it outside of a movie theater is pretty much a waste of time.

Devil Wears Prada is a good one.

Rocky Horror.....home and theater.

Second Hand Lions

Places in the Heart

Forrest Gump

I'll have to think of more..... hmmmmmm........... :brainfart

Super Troopers

Boondock Saints

Reservoir Dogs

The Big Lebowski

Debbie does Dallas

Full Metal Jacket

We haven't seen a lot of movies. We spend too much time at the baseball fields to work that in! Haha

But, when I can find enough time to sit down and watch, I will usually watch something I've already seen rather than watch a new movie on TV.

I will always love Somewhere in Time and Legends of the Fall.

Any "old" romance is good to me.

OK, here's my list (in no particular order) and why:

Princess Bride - Absolutely hilarious, with great acting. "You keep using that word...I don't think it means what you think it means..."

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Either you like it or you don't. I do. I can see a clip online or whatever and scenes just start running through my head. HILARIOUS. I do love me some British humor.

Henry V (1989 Kenneth Branagh version) - Hands down, the best movie I've ever seen. It's very slow at the beginning, but it is an AWESOME AWESOME movie. The acting, the score, he stays true to Shakespeare...it's just an awesome movie. It's a war movie, but it also has a love story in it for the chicks. ;)

Casablanca (b/w) - Do I really need to say why?

To Have and Have Not (b/w) - My personal favorite of all the Bogart films. Very funny. Bacall's first film; she is smokin' hot. Funny dialogue, great acting. Bogart, Bacall, Walter Brennan, Hoagy Carmichael. GREAT movie.

Pride and Prejudice (BBC Version) - Please note that I said the BBC version. It's a 6-part miniseries with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. A lot of other people star in it, but they're not important. :D If you haven't seen it (ladies...I'm pretty sure most of the guys wouldn't like it), you may as well buy it right off before you even watch it, because you will buy it after you see it. Trust me on this. GAH!!! I'm having heart palpitations even just thinking about it. :sigh:

O Brother, Where Art Thou - A classic in every way. Every. Way.

White Christmas - I love Danny Kaye...his dancing in this movie is just stunning. But the rest of the movie is fun and likeable as well.

Rio Bravo - John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson, Walter Brennan, Angie Dickinson. With the exception of Angie Dickinson, the cast is unbeatable. I wish they'd cast someone else, but she doesn't derail the movie. Martin and Nelson do some musical stuff along. And Dean Martin is just dishy. DISHY.

Support Your Local Sheriff - James Garner, Walter Brennan, Jack Elam, Harry Morgan, Bruce Dern, and a host of others. HILARIOUSLY funny western. I've never had much use for Bruce Dern, but he is hilarious in this. Jack Elam played a bad guy for years in movies, and then in his later years, did comedy. I think this was his first comedy role...awesome.

***

Separating this one out because it's so intense, it's not one I watch over and over, but one of the best movies I've ever seen is Dead Again with Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson (back when they were married). AWESOME movie. But did I mention that it's an AWESOME movie? It's about a girl with amnesia who shows up at an orphanage; the head of the orphanage gets a PI to find out who she is. More than that I cannot say...a real plot twister.

I loved Forrest Gump. I do not think I have seen the others. Will look at them. (beside Rocky Horror, that one I did not enjoy)

OK, now you're scaring me. Have you actually SEEN the BBC version of P&P? Or did you just see one of the other versions or read the book (which I am a total Jane Austen fan, but I swear, I have the hardest time reading her...I can read Shakespeare better than her!)?

I can watch all 3 Lord of the Rings movies over and over, but space them out as they are WAY too long to try to watch back to back to back. I can also watch all 3 Transformers movies over and over as well!

When I watch the LOTR movies, all I can think about is how the books were different/better, so I generally don't. Never seen Transformers of any kind. However, I can watch any and all Die Hard movies over and over.

I started watching Lord of the rings but then I realized I was not a 13 year old boy with a flying broom fantasy.

I read the book. I wanted to kill myself. :)) No way I was watching the movie. It might have sent me over the edge.
